John Palermo recently made some interesting satements on several players;

On Daniel McCullers: He noted the hard work that went into losing almost 40lbs. Still needs work on his conditioning.

Greg Clark: weighs 320 and needs conditioning work.

Trent Taylor: Has talent but is inconsistent.

Danny O’Brien: Has improved after after spending last 3 months in Kville.

Omari Phillips: fat and out of shape.

Steven Fowlkes: coach speak for dont expect much

Corey Miller: pass rusher only, cannot stop the run

Obviously Couch and Sentimore are 1st Team, who will join them? “Marlon, Hood, Saulsberry, and Taylor are the front runners.

Palermo on whether he has a lot of similar players or some who stand out more than others: “That’s a good question, and I can’t tell you I’ve got an honest answer for you at this particular point. There’s two guys that have really stood out, and that’s Couch and Sentimore. Right now a lot of the other guys are bunched up a little bit.”

Palermo on depth: Basically doesnt know if we have what we need to compete. Says he wants to watch the scrimmage first which to me means that we do not.

We'll be fine. We were ranked 28th in total D last year with one productive D lineman. We will be better this year. Sal demands it

Disagree on fowlkes. Not what he said at all. Fowlkes only prob is he has some studs in front of him. Hell be one of the first subs on passing downs IMO. Same for Corey miller.

guess it's good we'll be playing 3 linemen this year as opposed to 4

.

I really don't believe we are this bad on the d-line.

Sounds like coach speak. One bad practice can cause a coach to react this way. May be trying to light a fire under some guys.

Fat and out of shape?

Pass rusher only, cant stop the run?

You are telling me he said those things?

I watched the video and he didnt say that.

I enjoy your info but you are exaggerating a little

“Well, right now, Dante’s a ways away because of this: He was not in very good condition, he’s a little overweight. I don’t know what his situation was prior to here, but he’s got a lot of work to do right now from a conditioning standpoint.”

“Corey’s done a lot of good things. Corey’s a little bit more of a specialty-type guy — you know, more of a dime guy, a nickel guy to give you pass rush and stuff like that. He’s not big enough right now to hold up inside.”

100% Direct quotes.

I wish you would c&p some positive stuff every once in a while.

Rex, I really don't understand how an adult male can be so consistently negative. You always seem to take a par for the course situation and turn it into a huge negative situation.

And before you say, 'why don't you say it to my face', I'm just pointing out that you should really consider giving up following the pay sites and just keep up with the general info given to the public. Putting information on here like this as if it were actual quotes from the coaches is very rude and someone in the program should really confront you about misquotes and repeatedly twisting the players and coaches words.

Show me where he said "fat and out of shape" and "pass rusher, and absolutely can't stop the run"

I'll copy and paste some positivity on McCullers...here is what Palermo said today via UTsports.com:
I'll tell you what he did, he worked his behind off. When he got to camp, he reported at 362 pounds. When we talked to him in the spring, he was at 390 pounds so he has lost 30 pounds. He still has some work to do, but he has done a great job. He has made a commitment to becoming a football player

(On guys adjusting to the new defensive scheme)

"There is no question that our guys are thinking too much. We just do so much. I mean we do an under front, an over front, a base front. I mean we are just doing a lot of different things. But I will say this to you, we are way ahead of where we were in the spring as far as understanding the scheme."

I'm on 247 site just like you are Rex, and these were not exact quotes.... Again, I enjoy your insight and opinion and no disrespect.
