Mccoy 2nd team All American. Sampson 3rd. Sampson should have been higher, they had Skattebo as 1st team. While his stats were great, Sampson produced in the best conference in the country. That should be worth something.

This...put Skattebo in the SEC and nobody outside his own team and the team playing him that week know his name

He played a SEC team and had 262 yards rushing. Highest total of any player versus a SEC team this year. He increased his production when he went from JUCO to the Big 12 (which is a harder jump than Big 12 to the SEC). Also the leading rusher in the SEC last year was a transfer from a D2 school who walked on at lowly Mizzou, became the first SEC player in history with 200 yards rushing and 100 yards receiving in a game against Tennessee, and went undrafted. If that guy can dominate the SEC, I think Skattebo could be fine considering he has dominated the only SEC team he played.

Truth be told, Sampson, Jeanty, and Skattebo should have been the Doak Finalists. They are the three running backs who made the playoffs as the most important players on their teams.

Don't let the pendulum swing too far. Do you know who led the SEC in rushing last year, and by a wide margin at that? I'd say Skattebo is at least comparable.

Mississippi State was one of the worst Run Defense teams in the country.
Last in the SEC and ranked in the Top 10 WORST rushing defenses in NCAA.

Wouldn’t exactly chant “SEC, SEC, SEC” to their defense if you know what I mean.

Still Skataboo is a really good player.

He and Sampson would have been a great DUO this season.

Miss State was not good, but no one else ran for even 200 on them. And they played 4 top 15 teams.

Yes. Mississippi State is probably comparable to most of the big 12 teams.
