Just curious, but does anyone here play softball? I have joined a co-ed team with my work and this will be the first time that I have played organized softball. I will be patroling CF, hope my out of shape body can handle all the running.

I quit playing a couple of years ago because there were way too many people who apparently thought there were scouts for the show watching their every move, and that was in a "friendly" white collar league. In younger days I played on an industrial league team for a friend's engineering company and those guys were insane. I'm talking stirrup pants, black-out under the eyes, hats on at night, $300 Dimarini (sp?) bats, etc.

I play in an adult league with some work people. It's fun because not many take it too seriously. Good luck in CF, I park myself on the mound for most games. Pitching does take some talent :p

i played for two years and it ruined my golf game, so i quit. mainly a middle infielder, but they put me in left and right center (our co-ed league had 4 outfielders) on occasion

I quit playing after last year. The co-ed team drove me nuts because we could never get enough women there to play. I enjoyed it when I played on a men's only because everyone would actually show up.

My advice for hitting the ball is to try and swing level and make contact. If you try to kill it you will pop up every time

We are having the same problem with women on the team. We can't get enough to sign up and the ones that are already signed up don't know if they will be able to be at every game.:banghead2:

I got the hitting part down and have made a some nice plays in the field. I am looking forward to it. The only bad part is the women that are playing could hit the broad side of a barn when they throw and they couldn't hit water if they fell out of a boat.

Different mind set, I had fun because I was serious and there is nothing more fun than winning. What stinks is when you get old and your mind remembers what you could do but your body says no way or gets really mad at you the next day. :ill_h4h:

Got to love softball guy...baseball pants, hopefully pin-striped, stirrups, bat bag, 80s style neon green or yellow Oakley's, and a chilling stare.
