I don't know why this debate carries so much emotion. It's a fact that Baby Boomers have not been very good stewards of the finances of the country. Point the finger elsewhere all you want, but that's just a fact.
Maybe you weren't directly responsible, but your generation collectively shoulders the blame. As a generation, you protected, coddled, and spoiled your children. You brought us scoreless baseball, participation trophies, and the PC speech Gestapo (just to name a few). As a generation, you were hedonistic, denying yourself little and as a result carry some of the highest debt of any demographic.
Despite warning after warning that social programs were not sustainable over the long term, no serious thought was given to fixing that for future generations. You weren't going to have to worry about it. When SS reform was brought up, it was primarily killed by the boomers.
That's just a short list and it certainly doesn't absolve what the younger generation has brought on itself with Obama and Biden. I'm not like PKT who will be happy when you're dead, but the facts are facts. Had your generation been more responsible with governing and fiscal management, we wouldn't be in the current financial situation we are in today.
