Lehmann recently came out of retirement to return to Arsenal. While working as a television commentator in September, Lehmann criticized the performance of Tim Wiese of Werder Bremen in a Champions League game against Tottenham.

Wiese responded a day later in a newspaper, saying Lehmann should "go to the Muppet Show" and be treated "on a couch."

What a God-awful sport. Bad enough that he is suing over a silly insult. Even more pathetic is that fact that he initiated it. I hate soccer.

I'm not sure this is any reflection of the sport of soccer. There are 1000's of players worldwide, there's bound to be a few idiots.

It doesn't reflect the view of soccer fans. It reflects the view of soccer haters. I already thought the sport was weak. A bunch of toothpicks running around flopping. A team scoring 3 goals is a great day. I truly hate the sport and just thought the whole suing thing confirmed my view.

Regardless, it's just another odd story that I thought might be worth posting.

Just kidding. Have you ever been to a world class soccer match? It took me some time to get into soccer, but now I am a fanatic. You learn to look for things other than just goals. A 1-0 game can be very exciting. It's kind of the same thing with MMA. Novice viewers might get bored with a predominantly grappling fight that you and I would both think was exciting.
