So what if we only lose 2 games this year?

Would you still want to fire Phil?:dunno:

Ultimately, I would hope that he won't have to be fired, hopefully he will step aside. On that note, even it we win out, the game of college football seems to be changing, and our staff doesn't seem to be evolving with it, so for the long term health of the program, yes, I think after this year it would be best to go in another direction.

If that happens Fulmer would deserve to be coach of the year. Because what I saw on Sat if we win out that would be HUGE coaching. I don't see it happening. If they let us put 15 defenders on the field, we still will not be able to stop McFadden.

That's a great question. Honestly, it would go along way to easing the pain of this first month (which isn't over since Ark St. gave Texas all they could handle)

But the truth is...after the way we have been beaten...I mean the way we looked like we didn't stand a snowballs chance in hell from the very beginning of both losses...I don't think we stand any chance of winning out

BUT....IF we win out...and I mean the bowl game too...then no I wouldn't want Fulmer gone. In order to win out we are going to need some serious adjustments all over the field, both sides of the ball and special teams. If we do that then it would show Fulmer has the ability to adjust and adapt.

But I firmly believe that this won't happen and we will have at least 3-4 more losses...all of which will be in the SEC.

6-6 with a next to last place finish in the East...how could Fulmer survive this?

Yeah, we are going to take at least 1-2 more losses.... probably more.

Why even discuss the possibilities of only losing 2 games this season after the way the season has started. I think things are going to get alot worse before they get any better. Fulmer should be gone at seasons end no matter what the outcome of the next 9 games, 10 if we are lucky. Mediocrity won't win you 10 games in this league.

Tennessee is not relevant in college football right now. He has to go regardless of the last 9 games. Neyland Stadium is too big and the fans are too proud to watch this team fall from grace. It's the nature of the game, coaching jobs don't last forever (excluding Penn St., Florida St.) and Phil knew when he took the job that this day would come. They need a top assistant itching to get a head coaching job. Look at LSU, USC, Oklahoma, or a Florida and go after the top assistant.

Why wait until the end of the season? We have 2 weeks until the next SEC game. We can find someone, anyone to coach this team better than what I saw Saturday. I don't want to take anything away from F.U., they played a hell of a game and deserved to win. I'm just so sick and tired of watching the Fulmer master class on how not to be prepared!

You will notice that UT doesn't have a hot assistant looking for head coaching job.

Fulmer rememebers what happened to Majors.

The whole staff is stale -- expect for Trooper -- and that act is wearing a bit thin.

How many of the assistant coaches would other teams want?
