So what happens in Knoxville if/when Tennessee wins a Natty?

Everybody would get happy and wasted, then wake up in the morning refreshed and ready to pick the game apart on Vol Nation...why we didn't win by more, why we didn't use the tight end more, why we didn't go deep more often. It'll be back to business as usual.

We have to win the SEC East and the SEC championship and two playoff games. One step at a time

If?

Linus: [to Sally as she walks away with everyone else] Hey, aren't you going to wait and greet the Great Pumpkin? Huh? It won't be long now. If the Great Pumpkin comes, I'll still put in a good word for you!
[realizes what he just said]
Linus: Good grief! I said "if"! I meant, "when" he comes!
[calmly]
Linus: I'm doomed. One little slip like that could cause the Great Pumpkin to pass you by.
[calling out]
Linus: Oh, Great Pumpkin, where are you?

What is wrong with you people??

It's July, and you're LITERALLY planning the parade before the season.

Look, I have no issue with being excited about the season, predicting wins and accolades, or talking smack to rival posters. I do all of those things.

But you do realize they have to play the games, right?

I think the team should know that we EXPECT them to win. That hasn't been the case for a loooooong time, so it's time to try a new approach.

We're just having fun.

Now the players, they need to be serious this summer and work hard, improve and win the National Championship.

But us fans we can cut loose and have some fun. Those that want to. You can do it your way and we will do it our way.

After we win it all, it won't matter. We will all celebrate, just some will be more prepared than others.

Example: Don't forget cigars for the Bama game.

Go Vols!

Last time it happened, Vol coaches glowed and basked and did NOT use it to their advantage in recruiting, thus beginning a 2 year down cycle in recruiting and allowed Florida and UGA as well as LSU to out recruit them..

Often and we were no exception find that assistant coaches move on and up the coaching food chain as many have personal ambitions and drives as they are highly sought with demonstrated championship experience. Players by college fball nature are rotational. The chemistry of the staff, institution, and athletes cannot be under estimated in being a champion IMO. Hard to find that feeling sometimes of lightning in a bottle if you were champion one season and same bunch shows up to repeat is my experience. For the Vols after the 98 NC season, seems our staff was never able to quite have that again even though they were very good, had talent on the field, just not what it takes to sustain that feeling of destiny one has on the way to a championship at a high level.

I agree with you 100%, but there's a lot of pent up frustration within this fanbase. Still, it's a little cray -- what can you expect from the offseason though?

The games are a mere formality at this point. We will finish 15-0. It's best to start planning now if you want to maximize your post-championship mayhem.

Bama has a harder time recruiting , we have back to back top 5 classes , saben begins to grow tired of losing to Vols, he retires defeated, 10 years later Butch has 6 NC and we have a statue put beside NEYLAND, Butch retires Payton steps in as head coach to win 20 NC in a row , teams will not even show up to play and we play pick up games in prime time bc we have an all season contract for game day and pig Howard will get pot legalized in Tn , aj Johnson will right a book 3 is to much but what he means is still unknown bc there is still a lawsuit going on , earthen wolf will be a wolf , dobbs will cure cancer and make Mars similar to earth , Hurd will be a mma champion for 48 years ,

I don't see where anyone on here is planning a parade. Lot's of talk about what happens if/when Tennessee gets another one. If that happens there will be a parade. Until then you may want to sort this out...

Surely you jest! They HAVE to play the games FIRST??

It's all in good fun Coach Z. It's the offseason and unless you are a ridiculous regular season baseball fan, it's a slow time for the typical sports fan. Let the folks have their jollies with the high expectations. It's been a while since this type of realistic hype has been thrown on the mighty Vols.

I for one can't wait for Sept 1!
