CLK tells Petty he won't fit the plan either. So does CLK have a couple QB's up his sleeve or is he content he can work with what we have??

I think he's content for one year. Next year he'll get a top notch recruit. I've said it before and I'll say it again, Coleman is perfectly capable of leading this team to an 8 or 9 win season. Beyond that, I'm not sure. He certainly has the arm strength and *smarts* to be successful. And, by smarts, I mean he doesn't have an IQ approaching Lou Holtz's, like another QB in particular.

If our offensive line will hold up next year, I honestly believe that any of our quarterbacks have a chance. We have already got a solid running back and receiver....and if we add another receiver, i think we should be fine.

He obviously has a plan or he wouldn't be telling our current QB recruits that we wouldn't be needing their services. We'll find out.

Petty also said that we told him that we were looking at a couple QB's who were better than him right now.

I would have atleast held on to Petty untill I had another commit. He's got some balls to let them both go for "better players". I hope it dosen't come back to haunt us. We have to have faith in him though.

Why? If he's not going to play let him go somewhere else

I'd rather him be honest with recruits and build a good reputation. It means that if he shows interest in a guy, the recruit can have some confidence that he will have a chance in Kiffin's system. That can only help. We don't need to stockpile bench players... or mislead them.

It's really simple. Kiffin is going to sign who HE wants. He wants a QB with a strong arm that can throw down the field for those long bombs. Petty and Boyd simply did not have that. Im sure he has some other names in mind, but if we are not to get one of those guys, then he will wait till next year to sign one.

I have to say I'm liking CLK's style. He seems to be very methodical and direct in his approach to building his team. I think a clear direction, focus, and style have been missing because we've had the philosophy for so long that we build around the best athletes we can get from year to year.

I am a Fulmer fan, but I think that approach has forced us to make too many changes year to year and that has kept us from developing the talent (and identity for that matter) we were able to get. My gut says Coleman is the man next year.

Then please answer this...You all crucified Fulmer last year for our QB play and I just want to know how you all would really feel if we come into the season and Crompton is named the starter?...What are your thoughts

Obviously Coach Kiff already knows who his Holder will be next season!

I don't care who our quarterback is. I'm just tired of losing.PERIOD!Fulmer failed coaching miserably this year in more than just the qb position.

I don't think so, but that position will be open for competition in the spring as well.

My hunch: If you want to get playing time with Kiffin, the next big lessons we'll all learn (after recruit only players who fit the system), are players mus know the system and each must earn his spot to play in it.

Crompton's play was horrible, but I was also extremely disappointed in the offensive line, after reading all the hype during the off season. I used to coach offensive line on the high school level, so I tend to watch them more. I remember seeing big #79-Scott get blown off the line and miss tons of blocks throughout the season. I could not understand why Fulmer (a former Offensive line coach) could not get that fixed.

Perhaps going back to the pro-set will benefit Crompton, Stephens and Coleman. If Crompton is the starter, I just hope that his confidence isn't shattered and that Kiffin can help him complete the simple passes again.

I doubt will see a bunch of clapping and the same guy run back out there next year right after screwing up. Thats the part i'll like the most. No more favoritism and babying from daddy phillip. You screw up, you watch someone else play. Thats the way it should be.

:unsure:WOW,WOW, I do not know what he doing!!

I think it's crystal clear that Kiffin is a saboteur, here to destroy our program from within.

Everyone is distracted by his fancy-boy haircut, and his big-city politician talk...meanwhile, he's injecting our program with a lethal dose of poison.

Regards,
