So uf isn't that bad. We're just that behind.

that's all fine well and good, and i get it.

but horse teeth beat TN and LSU. he beat #3 Ole Miss in 2014, after beating TN in that awful ugly game we had.

in reality, FL should feel good about this season...but really, he's on the same path Mac was on. the offense showed some life with Grier as your QB back then, the defense was stout, you won the East....

not trying to rain on your parade. though i'd love to. but until mullen does something Mac couldn't (win the SEC title game), what really, is all that different???? recruiting isn't taking off either.......

it'll be interesting to see how it goes the next couple years. the floor has to be a lot higher with mullen than it was with Mac.

and right now (very early take i admit) it's basically the same, and it's not going to include (not likely anyway) a trip to ATL this year or next.

Technically, all Mac didn’t do was beat FSU and win the SEC.

Well UK looks legit. LSU is legit. the turd beat LSU. So it's obvious we didn't give them the game. They're that much better. I am so upset about every else getting better and we don't. Even MiSS St beat Auburn and is progressing but we can't. Now when we play Auburn we'll see how far behind we are.
We’re not that far behind. We were just six turnovers behind the gators.

Also we could play a perfect game against them and it would still be a toss up game. That’s just where we are as a program and how it always seems to be when we play them

Don't worry, Gators have suffered enough the past decade that we are pretty cynical at this point. I just never felt this good about Mac. We won the east despite Mac, not because of him, because the east just sucked. The D was still elite when he started because of Champ. By the time he left, even the D was in shambles.

We will see, but at this point we are ahead of schedule in the "rebuild". Let me put it in another perspective. If Pruitt had beaten UF, and two other ranked SEC west teams by now, I think you guys would be ready to call him the next Nick Saban.
i don't know that i'd call what y'all have been thru suffering....i suppose all things are relative, so in that vein, you definitely take a back seat to us in that category. dont need your alligator tears here, it simply wont' be tolerated.:)

and i agree about winning in spite of Mac. i think it's yet to be seen that you're winning because of Mullen. But, i'll conceded conventional wisdom says that's probably more likely than not.

but you can't deny that the start to the mullen era has compared favorably to Mac's. eerily simiilar.

i think it's hard to say you're ahead of schedule right now.

as for our perspective, let's just say it's certainly changed. i think most of us know now what kind of shape this roster is in, and that it's not where it needs to be. but to play along, i think if you go back and look at a lot of the pre season prognostication, the formula was to go 3-1, 0-4 and 3-1 to get to a bowl game. so even with a W against FL in the first month, most would tell you all that would have done was really increase the chances of a post season.

would it have instilled a little more confidence in the staff? sure. i thnik all of us on this side of the fence would have much rather seen this "new edition" of the UT/FL series get off on the right foot for once.

didn't happen. and what we have seen is a program that is in a real state of transition.

Florida is just kinda the same. we're just bad.

The real question is why didn’t Pruit jump direction in UT instead of taking his sweet ass time and coach at bama until the playoffs were over. He should have been at UT recurring and working on the team.

Yeah that's the problem. Nailed it.

Unless we recruit (and actually get) the players Florida gets, we will always struggle beating them.
Bunch of nobodys on that team are playing lights out on defense and they are decent 3 and 4 stars, which for that state is better than most of our high caliber kids we've recruited over the last decade in Georgia or here at home. Just compare the speed of their defense to everyone they are playing. They are fast and getting better (unfortunately).

Reel in these high 3 and some 4 star recruits out of Florida on defense. Then we will start seeing some games tilt our way. Until then, we will continue to struggle with the "bad boy" gators.
