Yet, it is o.k. to listen to one man; Jimmy Haslem and do his bidding! The National Media is not thinking this through correctly. Why is it o.k. for the University to do one man's bidding. They are missing the real story here. It's not the fans who are the problem! We haven't been the problem for the last 2 decades either but dumb decisions kept being made. The one constant at the university is the Haslem family!

Why not listen to 10's of thousands of minds instead of one who clearly has run this program into the ground and cannot run his own Cleveland Browns.

Because the national media- sports and otherwise- is not and has not ever been on your side.

The media can straight up shove it. Why shouldn't we have a voice on how we know a PUBLIC institution should be run? Makes no sense. UT athletics has been a disaster for about 10 years now and the fans are trying to stop it from continuing to do so.

I'm not a Trump guy but you'd think after how the media tried to tell everyone Trump was gonna lose last year they'd have learned a thing or two about underestimating public opinion. Clearly they haven't.

If sports media are actually advising an AD to ignore their fan base that proves they’re just stoking the bull **** for their own agenda.

Any AD as out of touch with their base as ours is should be immediately fired. And that isn’t up for debate.

I learn which ones are the absolute idiots whenever they go on the rant that TN fans "used" the child rape scandal to run off a coach that they didn't think had a good enough record to be the TN head coach. It was absolutely about Schiano's 6 years that he worked for Sandusky and the possibility that he failed to report it. TN fans did not ruin this man's career. They simply want to keep their distance from the worst scandal in the history of the NCAA. Even without the testimony that Schiano saw it, just working directly for that monster for half a decade is enough to eliminate him as a candidate.

I'm still waiting for the other, make that ANY other, team(s) to pursue this man as THEIR coach.

Well for Curries sake, let's hope the national media can pack Neyland because we sure as F*** won't

Then by extension the national media are saying we shouldn't listen to them either. They are the people who wrote all the articles telling us why Schiano is a bad coach. They reported his issues with players. They reported his characteristics/tendencies - pretty much the same obnoxious micromanaging control freak we just fired. They dug up and reprinted the allegation that Schiano knew what Sandusky was doing in the showers at PSU. If they felt all that stuff was newsworthy and correct, then why would they think Schiano was fit to be HC at Tennessee?

Obviously Tennessee fans are better judges of character than the media and our AD.

The media in this country is entertainment. I don’t want your opinion I want you to report the factual news and let me “the public” decide on what I think and not what you want me to think. That’s the problem.

That's how we got in this mess. NO ONE was listening to us. We are over the bull$hit!!!

Yeh even the most bone headed AD would do well to ignore that advice . Ignoring your fans will sink your boat in a hurry. Unless of course they want UTK to turn into UTC overnight .

And the AD hasn't ever listened to the fans and we are still under .500 the past 10 years. They arent listening to the fans now.....the media and there silly narratives.....

and tell me again why the national media should be the ones telling any program who they should and shouldn’t hir when they are involved or invested in that program?

There’s a reason ESPN rating are in the toilet. Report the news and quit taking sides and getting so political. They think it’s funny though....except when they get laid off because of no viewers

remember when "media" like ESPN just reported the news and didn't interject opinion and politics? yeah... their ratings were a lot higher too just sayin

The national media, as usual, are clueless to the facts and have an agenda to push. They are not interested in the facts of what is actually going on, nor do they care because that would get in the way of their narrative.

Yep, just keep spending your money without any return. The whole concept of watching a historic underperform from the admin down, in what is apparently an intentional manner, is ridiculous. Just keep earing the garbage and keep up those donations and buying the gear.. It's bullsh*t. I can't believe we have an administration filled with these parasites.

The media just wants to watch a dumpster fire, don't need them. When it all comes down, it'll be us and texas against the world anyway.

At least Texas looks like they're trying to find a winner. Meanwhile, we look like we are committed to throwing out loser after loser.
