We will be fine in the future, we just need to get through the difficulties of being a rebuilding project that Lane is working hard to do. He's instilling a winning attitude and mentality into this program, but as I said in an earlier thread it's going to take time. Enjoy your week VN, because we are all going to need our patience this upcoming Saturday. Don't get mad when this team messes up, because we all know that this team is going to make those mistakes. It's going to be frustrating, just keep yourself grounded for the rest of the season. This is a 7-5 team, nothing more and hopefully nothing less. I'm ready to move forward and let this team grow into a winner. I really love what Lane said right here and it lets me think that he's going to get the job done....

"You look for their reaction to it (losing and adversity)," said Kiffin. "I saw a little bit of a mentality during that game and in the locker room before I talked to them that isn't what we are or what we want to be. It isn't what a championship mentality is. A little bit of finger-pointing came out."

Good quote.

Ultimately, UT won't make any noise in the SEC until they recruit SEC caliber O-line and QB. The concern is that UT has about 6 teams on their schedule that are as good or better than UCLA. So even 7-5 might be optimistic. They'll have to make some serious improvements to hit that.

Even my orange kool-aid drinking ass can't think that optimistically at this point. I think I really am going to get some orange kool-aid for the Florida game. :)

Next year has the capability of being worse my friend. It's better to understand that now than to be disappointed later.

You know.....I was thinking this same thing after the game yesterday. We loose our entire O line this year, so where does that leave us? Plus, we will either have Stephens at QB, or an unproven Freshman. Add to that the possibility of loosing EB. We need to brace ourselves for another lean year. GO VOLS

it's gonna get worse next year no doubt, but the day that crompton never plays another down for ut will still be one of the happiest days of the my football life.
we have got the keep our expectations low for the next couple of years but our tennessee pride has to stay high so this phase gets over sooner that later.

Because I'm a fan, it upsets me to see a single player responsible for 4 turn overs and is still starting. No fan should have to rationalize why that player is still on the field. No fan should have to dread the coming week's game because we be assured that ONE player will make it impossible for us to win. I don't understand the love affair coaches have with JC.

JC won the job because of his performance in practice. Once again, this has not transfered to the playing field. Are we really going to hang ourselves with ONE player again this season?

EB said in a taped ESPN interview before the game that the UCLA game ruined our season last year. It doomed it from the start. If that was he thinking before the game, I wonder if he feels the same way this morning?

This is NOT JC's team. All of the finger pointing eluded to in Kiffin's quote were pointed at JC, I assure you. They need to be. He is the one that continuously makes the worst possible decisions and costs us game after game.

I've said my peace regarding JC. I won't say anything else about him. He's really bad, and I hope the JC fans realize this.

Let's try to keep it close in Gainesville. Go Vols.

Yea, like put in a QB that can hit a wide open reciever down the middle, look off atleast one DB, one time a game. If crompton starts at UF...I cannot watch, I know what will happen, this will tell me alot about Kiffin this week. Im just sayin....

Since I seem to hear it every year I think they should add a new maxim.

"Focus on the positive and remember it's a rebuilding year"

You're right on there Eric. We won't see major improvement until CLK's 3rd year IMHO. By then he will most of his kids here and a QB that will run his system and his only. I'm still on board with the job he is doing

To put an end to the mess he creates, JC must start at FL....maybe this will put an end to it all, finally.

Totally agree! Give Kiffin time and we are rebuilding, we were 5-7 last year. I know we would all like to but we were not gonna run the table this year so I think the team will work the kinks out and we will be fine.

I'll just go out on a limb and say i'm not quite back down to Earth yet this morning. Still extremely angry, dissapointed, and upset. It's going to be a rough next week unfortunately.

Pete Carroll went 6-6 in his first year at USC.
Nick Saban went 7-6 in his first year at Alabama.

That is all.
