Looking at our current commitment list we have 33 committed. We can back count 5 from last year so that puts us at 28. Dews is greyshirting so that gets us to 27. If we are still heavily pursuing Jackson and Scott that gets us back to 29, which is 4 players over the self-imposed SEC limit of 25. and that would put us over the 85 man roster limit.

So my question is, what else do we project CBJ and staff to do to get our roster down to the 85 man limit? Who do we turn away or encourage to look elsewhere?

Cory Thomas will likely flip. One out of Barnett and Hendrix will likely flip. Brown supposedly has grade issues. Bryant had grade issues but I think he's looking better now.. don't worry about the numbers we will be fine

Honestly, I cannot see CBJ allowing ANY of our remaining D-Line recruits to flip in order to make room. We just have too big a need at that position to allow that. I was ticked enough about losing Davonte Lambert I just don't think we can afford to lose anymore D-Line commits.

Losing Brown would suck ROYALLY! His offer list was insane and I would hate to lose a guy like that!

34 current with Scott added.
-1 Thomas flips
33 total.

30 sign for the 2014 class with 5 being back counted.

Dews and Paulk accept a GS & Robertson is a BS. these 3 count toward the 2015 class.

IMO the numbers work out just fine if this plays out.

IF Adoree decides to commit to UT, something else has to happen to make room for him. I doubt it comes into play.

He's said from the beginning that he has a way to get 35 commits. He's going to ask current players to walk in order to get under the 85 man limit.

I can't wait until after signing day so that half the people that put up these equations and swear theirs is correct, get proven wrong.

that wasn't directed at ^. that one makes some sense

Also, is it possible to get Adoree Jackson a full ride through a track scholarship rather than football? That way he wouldn't count against the 85 man limit, but he would still get all the financial benefits. I'm not familiar with the rules for dual sport athletes...

If he plays football, he counts toward football.

No it's not. If he plays Football then the Football scholarship it's counted against first.

I thought the 85 man roster was total number of walk ons and scholly players and that you couldn't have more than that.

If a dual sport athlete plays football his scholly counts toward football. Bear Bryant rule.

Here's the equation on how many you can sign.

With the addition of Scott, Rivals has us at 33. Who are they leaving out?

I have no idea how they are going to sign all of these players. I dont know who they would not want to sign?
