Gruden trolled our fanbase.

Gruden didn't squash the rumors.

Gruden didn't deny interest.

Gruden didn't state he wasn't interested.

Gruden mentioned Rocky Top out of nowhere in Seattle.

Gruden said "Never say never to nothing."

Gruden could have had this job if he wanted it, and he didn't.

Please stop with the Grumors. I loved it, and followed along, and wanted them to be true. It's the most fun I've had in 5 years, following this coaching search.

I enjoy the insiders. I enjoyed the reports.

But regardless, none of it was true, and if it was, we will never truly know it. There will be those that swear up and down a deal was done. But yet, Gruden will not be our next coach.

I was 100% Gruden, but it's never going to happen. Let's move on from this guy who OBVIOUSLY doesn't give two craps about our fanbase, and let's get behind our new coach, and let's have fun winning championships.

GBO and Welcome Coach Pruitt!

He has and will forever be dead. He's got the biggest ego loves hearing his own name mentioned, loves the attention. He was never a legitimate candidate, and will never be so.

The guy literally said a couple of weeks ago he was happy with his job now. He did say you never say never, but it’s nit his fault people here took that as a “smokescreen”. It’s also not his fault people chose rather to believe trolls over gruden own words. Jmo

Or maybe Gruden gave hope and community to the Grudes who needed it. Glass half full.

The Gruden thread was fun.

Gruden was just playing us for his ego and entertainment! I'm glad he is not our coach and will likely never be our coach!

I’m not trying to be a jerk (look at my username for an obvious insight into who I’ve wanted since 2012) but I find it hilarious that much of the fanbase wanted:

A guy with ridiculous credentials, a championship resume, no head coaching experience in college but with the caveat that he could recruit with the best of them.

But are burning their couches over a guy that has:

ridiculous credentials, a championship resume, no head coaching experience in college but with the caveat that he could recruit with the best of them.

One has a Super Bowl ring - the other was involved in helping to coach collegiate teams to several national championships. I get it, he’s not Gruden, but at some point you wonder if people prefer media headlines to honest to God football coaches. In the NFL every year, numerous coordinators are picked instantaneously to fill HC vacancies - many of whom never had head coaching experience. Yet, at the college level, it’s the end of the world, regardless of the blatant, repeated success he’s had at numerous stops. Oh, and he’s from Alabama, so he’s also doomed to fail by most logic.

You dick heads played yourselves. If he had any interest, he would have reached out from the get go. Hell, after the stupidity from the time they fired Butch, I'm surprised he didn't take a leave of absence and fly south of the equator just to get away from all you dingle brained butt pimples.

Hopefully, all the Grudenites will protest and say they are quitting TN football and then we can rid ourselves of that cancer.

Now you know why Elvis faked his death.
