I'm black, and I'm proud.

Not really, but I love that line from the movie The Commitments.

Racial slur is a racial slur and Snoop is using his lyrics to turn a profit just like Imus was using his words to "shock" his audience to turn a profit. I see no difference whatsoever.

well, when you're the sultan of cool, you get away with a lot. Don Imus is just the sultan of fool. :)

unbelievable...what hypocracy.

And, where is Al Sharpton? He certainly won't call for a boycott on Snoop Dogg's records.

If the langauge is offensive, it shouldn't matter who's saying it. If Al Sharpton truly wants to elevate the African-American community from terms like "nappy-headed hoes," he should spend less time selectively targeting offensive remarks by whites, and hold the African-American community accountable as well. As long as the African-American community continues to allow such self degradation from its own celebrities, its rants, protests, and demands should not be taken seriously.

Exactly!

Slick Rick says, they have really blowed this up. It's kind of like Anna Nichole situation, please let it go. Imus is canned so it should be over.
