If Nate Ament doesn't return do you guys think there is any chance of us going w a "small ball" lineup?
Could we see
Pg Dai Dai Ames
SG Terrence Hill Jr
SF Tyler Lundblade
PF Jalyn Haralson
C Miles Rubin

This lineup would generate some serious offense and is not as small as the title would suggest. Lundblade is 6'5 and Haralson is 6'7 w a solid build. So neither would be super overmatched in size by most of our opponents. Hill is 6'3 and would be a bit undersized for a 2, but not by a ton especially in the college game.

Lundblade is easily one of the best shooters in the entire country. He led NCAA in FT PCT at 93% also was sixth in the NCAA in 3pt made per game and shot over 43%. Terrence Hill Jr can shoot the ball really well also as he shot 37% from 3 and 84% from FT. Ames also shot 37% from 3 and is a very good mid range shooter. Jalen Haralsons strengths are driving to the basket, scoring at the rim , and finishing thru contact. He is also a very good passer and playmaker.

I feel like our guys really compliment e/o well and this is possibly the best offense team that Tennessee has ever had. If Nate Ament returns I don't see how we are not the no 1 team in the country and title favorites. I have never been so excited for basketball season to get here as I am super stoked about this team and some of the Incoming freshmen as well.

This lineup would be good in stretches but would get hurt on the boards against bigger teams.

Looks like we’re putting together another “pretty good” team. I’m tired of pretending we don’t always get out sized by the Big 10 in the tournament.

Oh well, maybe this year’s star studded guard lineup will be better than our 2019, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025 teams..

But, Barnes has killed it in the portal. Very happy and impressed. I am confident he will land another big man to help interior defense and rebounding.

Interesting though. If Juke does commit does that mean we slide Tyler to the bench or does one of the 6'3 guards in Ames or Hill Jr go to the bench and allow Juke to be SG? He is a self described "big guard".
I personally believe Tyler Lundblade would move to 6th man however w both of our guards being 6'3 and essentially both capable of playing pg, I wouldn't be totally shocked if we saw one of the 2 get moved to the bench either and have Juke playing the 2. Only time will tell I guess.
Regardless I have never been so excited for basketball season to come back around at Tennessee.

I believe they are higher on Lundblade than Dai Dai. Which is not say they are low on Dai Dai. Just my reading between the lines of statements/reporting.

Juke will our SF and probably play that exclusively and he will be asked to rebound more than he did at Wake Forest. We would have 120 minutes to split between the 1, 2 and 3 spots. Hill, Lundblade, Ames and Harris....30 minutes per for each accounts for all of it on the perimeter. I think this is what we will see for competitive games. When we blow teams out, others on our bench will get playing time and frankly I would expect it to happen alot.

I would start Lundblade at 2G. You just have to account for his perimeter shooting and he would provide space for Hill, Harris, Haralson, and Ames whomever is in the game. Doesn't mean that Lundblade necessarily would get more minutes than Ames. If game is close and we need better perimeter defense at the end of the game, Ames will be playing ahead of Lundblade, in my opinion.

Both Ames and Lundblade are about to become better defenders by virtue of playing for Rick Barnes.
