UCLA got smashed in the face 59-0 by BYU...UCLA beat us...Florida will kick our butts yet again...we are so mediocre it makes me sick...we will be lucky to win 6 games and even make it to a bowl...where the "H" is the new "offense." It looks the same to me!!! Defense sucks, Offense is a joke...oh yeah, I guess Fulmer has been fooling everybody the 1st 2 games, and he and Clawson are going to open it up in Sat...yeah right, if you believe that, I've got some land for sale...I'm so sick of this...will get them next year crap!! We suck!

And what can we tell from that? I think UCLA caught a pretty good BYU team after a game they very well could have lost (maybe even should have) and BYU took all their anger out on UCLA. The only real thing I took away from that game was that BYU looks legit.

I think he just frustrated as the rest of us are with this stuff Tennessee is putting out on the filed.
All I can say is keep pulling for the Vols win or lose, and try to enjoy college Football. It's still better then being at work any day.

I understand the way you feel, though I will say the last time I felt this way for a game I was traveling to Knoxville for was Georgia last year. I came to town for that one expecting to get smoked.

I'm just saying...

Neyland will be rockin, it will be energetic because its our 1st SEC game and thats what we are set out to do. Win the SEC

Yeah..those 548 yards of offense were juuuust terrible. There are a lot of things we can work on, but marking up a 35 point effort as mediocre is laughable.

Our defense has given up 563 yards in 2 games, 7 interceptions, held teams to 12-31 on 3rd down conversions, 2 sacks. Not exactly terrible. Blown playcalling can be blamed more than anything.

Last, no one except deluded board posters have said that Clawson's offense was going to be some crazy playcalling in wacky formations. In fact, they said it would look close to the same, but without the set-in-stone so-and-so gets x amount of touches a game, regardless of how they play. Should we run 5 wide every play? Should we give the ball to a tackle and let him throw? The thing is, football is football. You run, pass, screen, toss, kick. What you want is a gimmick offense that looks so damn wacky it's like playing backyard football.

I was the same way. A couple of Georgia fans were talking trash (literally) as we walked to the stadium, saying the next they came we should clean the place up (we were walking from the boat house by the creek that fills up with litter when it rains). While I really wanted to say something cutting and witty, I didn't feel like being a fool in a couple of hours so I just kind of grunted and gave him a "go eat [poop]" look.

I think I may just take my chances this year if a gator starts talking smack.

I'm so sick of all of the UT fans giving us no chance to win. I'm as disappointed with the results so far as anybody. However, you guys are giving UF way too much credit. Anybody remember the UF team of last year that lost 4 games? They aren't much different than that team! UT has looked bad at times this year but our strengths match up very well against UF's weaknesses. This game will be close and if Crompton can avoid too many mistakes then we can win. Our D line is improved from last year and our secondary is one of the best in the nation. If our coaches actually have some balls in the playcalling then we should be able to load up against the run and try to make Teblow beat us passing(which I'm not sure he can do). If we run the ball like we can and control both lines then we can grind this game out. All of these "fans" who are already conceding a brutal loss is really starting to make me sick. Call me a homer or a orange kool-aid drinker but I see us as having more than just a good chance if we play up to our strengths. UT 23, UF 17.

we can beat florida. they are very good but by no means unbeatable. run the ball, control the time of posession, play action, defense gets off the field. i dont know about u, but im takin the 8 points at home. i almost want the odds on us winning straight up. all we have to do really is be more physical and beat them up. lets go vols. i hate florida more than any team in any sport in any world. i cant wait:rock2:

If we play mistake free football, have no turnovers, no special teams miscues and never go three and out, we MAY have a shot.... Key word being " may "

I hope the VOLUNTEER spirit prevails and the VOLS are given all due support.

Fans don't win games but they sure can set teams up to feel supported and confident, from the VOL walk on to the end of the contest, I hope the fellas hear nothing but cheers.

Like all VOL Fans, we definitley live in a fantasy world...fla 35 Tn 10...crompton chokes, throws 2 picks, run is shut down as a result of a no pass attack...defense wearies because of time on the field...Teebow runs, runs, and runs...same old sad ass story...we are becoming the Vandy of the East! Wake up people...its not going to change with PF at the helms...

I just can't understand how a man twice the age of most of these kids playing can be so vile. No one is happy about the current sitiuation. To knock the players around is pretty low. They work very hard during practice way before the season starts .Very condescending remarks you have made. It reminds me of a guy about your age in 98. During the Arkansas game he stood and started ranting about Bill Clinton, we couldn't lose to his state. He was all red face. Of course on the end we beat them and I stayed for the entire freaking game because I believed in them.

I was not being negative towards the "players," only Crompton...like I said before, and you are the typical VOLFAN who has now excepted mediocity as the norm, and do nothing but dwell on the past...come on man, its 2008...we won the championship 10 years ago...if this satisfies your hunger, then more power to you!!

Man I couldn't have said it any better. It will only get better when CPF is gone. This man has not been able to coach since the 90's and if he is not gone soon will be no better than Kentucky or Vanderbilt. We get out coached every game and it is getting old. People are optimistic after the UAB game and we played horrible again. Its just amazing how Fulmer is still the coach, when he couldn't coach a pee wee team.

Finally someone who can see what's going on, and excepts the UT Football program for what it actually is, not what fantasy fans see, and that is a program in a definite downward tail spin...thanks PF!!!

Although I think there is a good shot we will get smoked, i remember the days when Auburn came in with a guy named Jackson and they left with their tail tucked between their legs. I remember the unbeatable canes that got dog bit, I remember the dominant reptiles that got out hustled by a young rb from clarksville tn. UGA in 04 and 07. Tennessee has been in some bad situations before, but I will remain positive that we can take the gators.


It's Florida week boys, been waiting for this for a year now.

What is the possibility UCLA got whipped by BYU because UCLA had not recovered from the physical game WE put on them? I live in PAC 10 country; when they talk about 'playing physical' they mean their cheerleaders touched them in places they didn't like (most of their cheerleaders are guys anyway). Maybe, just maybe, we do have a chance at this. I seem to recall a saying: "that's why they play the games".

Yeaaaah... I think if we had no turnovers and no three-and-outs, then we beat the absolute DOG out of Florida.

That would be great, but I am counting on Cromp for at least 2 picks. Hopefully a meatgrinder rushing attack and disciplined D will give us a shot.

I'm on the 'aid, but I'll be watching the game through my fingers for the entire first half.

Man,
Everyone is living in la la land. What would make anyone think we would beat Fla. I mean even when we come into the game better than them we usually lose. Look at CPF record against Fla, does anyone HONESTLY say with confidence we are going to win? I for one will not get my hopes up anymore, I am not going to smack talk the gators b/c for the last decade or two they have been better, coaching, execution, getting the breaks, everything in general.
