Skip Clueless cracks me up

The Boston big 3 formed and Pierce was 30, Garnett 31, and Allen 32. These guys were coming out of their prime years. Meanwhile Lebron was 25, Bosh 26 and Wade 28 when they teamed up. The Heat will be a longer lasting and better big 3 when their time is up.

It's not fair (or accurate) for me to say I despise him as a person. He clearly does a lot of charitable work and does seem to be a pretty good guy, and deserves praise for those things. What I do despise is the way he chose to create a superteam in order to chase a title, and I truly feel that the NBA is going to be a FAR worse league in a few years because of it. If and when the All-Star Heat win a title, I imagine we'll start seeing other superstars collude to form other superteams in the big markets in order to also have a shot to compete for titles. The smaller market teams will essentially just become minor league squads for the elite players to cut their teeth in as they wait for their first contract to run out and then join one of the super teams in LA, NY, Miami or Chicago. Personally I think the league is a better place when the superstars are spread out somewhat evenly amongst several teams as opposed to all grouped together on 4-5 teams.

I realize that the Heat aren't the first team who have ever had multiple great players in one city, but it is the first time we've seen 3 guys colluding in full view of the public to join forces in free agency. If the Heat prove that a team with 3 superstars surrounded by essentially scrubs is a winning formula, sadly, I'm afraid this sort of team will become commonplace rather than a one time experiment.

Super teams are nothing new, though. Magic, Kareem, and Worthy would be considered a "super team" by today's standards. So would Bird, McHale, and Parrish. I don't even need to mention the two separate Bulls trios. The thing is, back in the "golden age" of basketball during the 80's, there were only 23 teams in the league. The talent was much more compact, meaning it was easier to build a solid foundation through the draft, because of the much higher likelihood of drafting multiple good players. Do you think Jordan would have remained content in Chicago had the Bulls not dominated the '87 draft? I doubt it. They struggled mightily in the playoffs in those early years. He probably would have eventually pulled a Clyde Drexler and demanded a trade to a contender.

Speaking of Drexler, nobody complained when he requested a trade, and ultimately ended up joining forces with Hakeem Olajuwon. Players want to go where where they have the best shot to win, which is usually alongside other good players. Whether or not they get lucky and their team drafts excellent players around them, or gets them through trades/free agency doesn't really matter. Why is there a double standard for the Heat? Had the Cavaliers drafted someone of the caliber of Russell Westbrook or James Harden to play alongside LeBron, or signed a couple of better free agents, he'd probably still be there.

I think one of the problems is the fact that there are too many teams as it is. The NBA has become the most watered down league in sports, and getting that title over baseball is a pretty good feat. I think if the league just straight up eliminated 6 or 8 franchises, the overall quality of the game would improve. Too many scrubs in the NBA these days. It does suck for many teams, especially the ones who are stuck in limbo (Denver, Utah, Memphis, etc.) who aren't good enough to compete for a title, but aren't bad enough to get a high lottery pick.

why do some of you watch/listen to guys who piss you off like Clay Travis, Bayless ? Furthermore you then go to the there websites and tweet them. All you are doing is getting them paid.
Do yourself a favor and dont listen to them. Only time I hear Bayless is when the TV at Y has him on in the waiting room, and i quit listening to 1045 the zone

They do it because they know it'll get them views and ratings boosters. Genius move. I mean do people honestly think Bayless believes Tebow is a legitimate NFL qb? We all ridicule and hate on Skip while he's wiping his a$$ with dead presidents.
