The 18,000 Im guessing is from Undergrad #s, not total students. And last time I checked, I was from Cobb County in Georgia when I was enrolled at UT.

My favorite: Best place to boat: Tennessee River

He's so wrong, my favorite place to boat is the fountain by Humanities plaza...or maybe Circle Park.

Thanks for clearing up the Uncle Rico comment...wow, I feel really old now:ermm:

Good lord.. what the hell was that? That kid's writing makes me ashamed to say I'm a Beacon alum, what the hell has happened? I bet he was the same guy who approved the section with Fulmer carrying the cross for a resurrection of the football team.

I don't really see why you all are giving this kid such a hard time. I mean, the drive north from Knoxville (a.k.a. Shelby and Williamson counties) to the Smok"e"y Mountains National Park is a short drive. . . .

If you're driving the Space Shuttle, and it's travelling at ground level. Then, it would only take about an hour-and-a-half to head North and cover the 24,800+ miles between K-town and the park.

A couple of other notes:

Vol fans travel to "Mecca" once a year? Only the crappy ones.

The strip is dead, and contrary to "making sure" you're 21. . . .I don't know if I've had a good time there since I've been 21.

Oh, and apparently he didn't get the memo: Tents are no longer permitted to "blanket" the campus.

BUT MY FAVORITE. . . .

Best place to boat? Ding, ding! You got it, the lake! Don't even think about dropping that new Sea Ray in your neighbor's pool or the water treatment plant just downstream from the stadium. You're going to want to put that beauty in the big piece of open water that runs through town. That's the way to really get your money's worth.

I wish that SI would take this crap off the 'net. They're liable to cost Ainge his Heisman.

Wow, very poorly written. Kind of disappointing that write-up made it on SI.com.
