Actually, of all our remaining games, the FSU game looms as the real trap game to me. It is entirely possible that with all the controversy right now Bowden's job will depend on them beating us and ruining what might be at that point a realistic shot at playing for the national championship.
The drumbeat to force Bowden out is growing louder with each loss. The perception down here is that Bowden is too old to do this anymore and that the game has passed him by. Furthermore, he simply refuses to replace his son, Jeff, at offesnive coordinator, even though the offensive production for that team is way, way off since he took that job.
I know former players for FSU that are just beside themselves with the way the program is deteriorating so quickly and, to a man, they blame it on Jeff and, by proxy, Bobby.
This week, for the first time, a couple of prominent boosters admitted publicly that they have been asking the FSU president to do something about the situation. If FSU loses again, I expect you will hear more of them step forward and call for a change.
At the end of November, it may be that the only way to salvage another season for Bowden so he can try to go out a winner is for them to beat the Gators. The Bowden faithful will be out in force for that.
And I hate to say it but over the years Bowden-coached teams have been willing to play dirty to win, i.e. take cheap shots at players and to intentionally injure them. Some Bowden loyalist on that team might go after Leak, or Tebow, or Wynn, in an effort to hurt them to affect the outcome of the game.
Its that bad right now at FSU. It could happen.
