if this team would have realized that they could drive the lane and dunk on these guys that game last night would have been a blow-out.People.dont understand the size factor we have over most any opponent we face.......to bad are players dont realize that to. We may be a little slower but at times are lineup consists of players that stand no shorter than 6-6. Thats pitiful that they cant drive on anyone..Someone needs to toughin these guys up if we expect to get into the tourney at the end of the season.

what was the size advantage last night? You do recall we had Tyler Smith guarding either Patterson or Stevenson for large portions of the game, right?

2001 football team---had one of the biggest chokes in history against an average lsu team in the SEC title game, costing UT a national title.

Basketball ain't over yet! Never been that good anyway.

Football was a bust, but not like 2005??? Ranked #2-3 and did not go to a bowl. Bigger bust.

UT women...ALL FRESHMEN! Get a life. They will be fine.

Get off the ledge, take a step back, breathe, and have a shot of Dickel! Relax. It is not the end of the world. IT HAS BEEN MUCH WORSE ON THE HILL THAN THIS YEAR!

Good point. What was every1 expecting from this team anyways? All these Frosh are playing and we all knew we didn't have a shooter. I think it is funny to see everyone roasting these young guys when us as fans are dumb and expect us to find a Lofton or J.Smith to be able to shoot lights out. These guys will get better as the year goes on. Oh and BTW we have lost to good teams. This team also beat G-Town so don't give up on these kids. We aren't a basketball school so why get all worked up over this? We have lost what? 5 games?

Zags(2)

Temple (dude shot lights out)

KY ( we win if Meeks only gets 30)

Kansas (they are hard to beat at home)

So why is every1 freaking out?

Going to school during the Houston era, I have a hard time saying this is one of the more disappointing basketball teams.

If you think that UT athletics is struggling, My dad moved my family to Keams Canyon, Arizona for about 18 months where I had to attend the 10th grade. The highschool football team had lost 39 games in a row, the basketball team had won 3 games in 5 years and the baseball team lost every game that season. I was never happier to move back to Tennessee!!

Being a life long fan almost 50 years, and serious fan since the late 1960's, I think/feel I have been lucky to follow the VOLUNTEERS OF TENNESSEE, and although we have had a few seasons in various sports that have been disappointing, I have overall been very proud to wear the best shade of ORANGE ever invented. It has been very rare in all of that time for someone to stop me anywhere, or even friends and acquaitances including heated rivals, say something derogatory about the VOLS. I appreciate the entire University for putting out a class product, and when issues arise, making the necessary steps to keep standards where they belong. I also love the Indiana Hoosiers, especially basketball, and can tell you first hand how bad a program can slip and lose a sterling reputation in 2 seasons. It really hurt us IU basketball fans and with Tom Crean we will recover. But I don't see Tennessee allowing that to happen, and I appreciate it.

PS I still think Pearl will right the ship this season (again I am not a CBP fanatic, Kiffin will do fine, and Pat Summit will manage to forget more basketball this week than most of us on this board will know in a season, and still win). GO VOLS

Atleast there's always football...no wait you stunk this year...damn. Sucks to be a vol fan!

Must be demoralizing when a good team by UK standards plays one of UT's sorriest and still gets pounded. Even the Gamecocks have more reason for hope than you clowns on the gridiron.

Oh yeah We are horrible, Just terrible...Lets fire coach Pearl and hire back Buzz Peterson or Jerry Green or Wade Houston...Yeah...That's the ticket...let's go back to the dark ages of VOL basketball..I find it hilarious how Pearl was such a godsend last year and now all of a sudden people are turning on him for his teams poor play as of late...Amazing

What are Channing Crowder's thoughts on who our next basketball coach should be?

Football's most disappointing would have to be the 2008 team (5-7) and the 1988 team that started 0-6 before winning their last 5. That team had talent (Reggie Cobb, et al) and just underachieved.

The most disappointing football team is unquestionably 2005. Pre-season ranked 3rd; finished 5-6 and lost to Vandy. It pretty much defines the term "disappointment."

+1 for the 2005 team, lost to Vandy. Had to re-bury my dad that year after he spun out of his grave.
