New article on KNS says Simms is limping due to a hit in the 2nd Quarter against Bama and is wearing a knee brace. Bray is getting first team reps and apparently has stepped up his leadership drawing praise from Poole.

EDIT: changed Bray may start to Bray may get more reps

I'm not entirely convinced about which outcome I'd prefer. Just presenting the info. I'm surprised Simms has hung in there this long with all of the hits he's taken.

Can't wait to read the comments on this one. Bring it on Bray lovers and Simms haters. You know, the ones who were calling for Bray to be the starter over Simms. After all, he really proved to be so much better than Simms vs Alabama didn't he?

I have appreciated Simms' effort this season. I will also say that at times he has been so frustrating to watch. At this point in this awful season, I feel like it gives the fan base something to look forward to if Bray is going to be the starter.

Wow need to call my bookie.......Jokes aside maybe all week of first team reps and starting will kick start Bray and the offense. I would take SC to cover but would pay for Bray to beat SC and not mind one bit. I would sing Rocky Top all night!

National TV, versus Alabama in front of 100,000...CDD did not put Bray in a position to succeed. What do you think? Maybe on the road in Memphis is a better setting!

ill take simms..jmo
bray will be very good though...eventually.

Serious question here, How is bray going to learn if he does not get a chance to play? Simms is ok but I think now is the time to give bray a chance and get some experience under his belt for next year. JMO:eek:k:

99% of back-ups in CFB get playing time by mop up duty in blowouts.

Who's to say that Bray would start over Simms next year? Simms will also have another year of experience and if he's better this year then why should that be any different next? This doesn't even take into account that Justin Worley will be in uniform.

I'll trust the coaches to make the call on who should start but it would be better for all concerned to pick a QB and go with it instead of rotating QB's. Not only is is hard for them to get into any rhythm, the rest of the offense also has to adjust to the differences in cadence/inflection, etc.

Simms was freaking terrible vs. Alabama. Completely dreadful. If he's the slightest bit hurt I would prefer Bray to play because I think he would give us the better opportunity to win.

I'll take a healthy Bray over an injured Simms anytime.
I respect Simms for his effort and I wouldn't like to see Simms' without mobility. One hit on an already injured player is not what you or he wants.
He'd be a sitting duck waiting for slaughter.
Better to let Bray go with the 1's. Who knows what will happen.
GO VOLS!

Aside from Brays first series, he looked alright. He has some zip on the ball and gets it out before the secondary turns to watch. In his second series, he made three good passes. Interference could have been called on all three and should have been called on at least one.

I'd like to see LURCH start.
Then we can get some new threads started like 'Why Nance should start instead of Bray'

I have been a huge Simms supporter all season, but the last few games, I dunno, when I see him in there I just don't get excited. Maybe it's just that we know what we'll get out of Simms, and that is some good throws here and there, and then some bad throws. At least with Bray we haven't seen him for an entire half nor less an entire game.

Both QB's played awful in the Alabama game.

This season is a wash anyway, it's not like we are competing for anything. Starting Bray the last part of the season will at least give him lots of experience that he can carry forward to next season.

Won't matter who starts this week. I guess they won't be putting up their usual 10 points with Simms. I guess they'll have to settle for a field goal or no points at all. Does it really matter? The only thing they have is Poole and throwing a deep ball or two. Maybe two sweeps in a row or something.

Well I guess if Simms is hurt, we have no choice but to play Bray. This is the reason you have to give your second string qb some valuable playing time in a real game in case he does have to come in and take over. With our lack of depth there was probably never going to be a situation where we were so far ahead that Bray could come in and play under no pressure or anything because we had the game won already. I'm sure CDD was expecting this to happen sooner or later based on the hits Simms was taking. Whether some on here want to believe it or not, our coaches do know what they're doing.

i wonder if bray is the type of guy some people call a "gamer". doesn't look good in practice but comes out on game day and lights it up.start him and let see.
