I said here last week I thought someone had muzzled him. Thought it was Hamilton. Guess I was wrong.

I've got no problem with it... I'm a UT alum and a HUGE VOL fan, but my school's reputation is also important to me.

He said "Since our conversation, he has been exactly the kind of coach we want and need..."

I wonder if he did something similar when Meyer said Troy was more talented than UT?

Jan Simek quote from the article:

"When we lost to UCLA, we lost to a better academic institution, too."

Who says something like that? Somebody needs to muzzle this guy

He's a guy named "Jan."

Based upon that information alone, it's clear that he's a pompous, highly self-satisfied, effeminate prick.

Typical brains vs. jocks theatre. Hopefully he realizes that the Athletic Dept brings a ton of revenue into the school.

attention whoring POS.

I'll just say that Lane's doing better on the sports front than Jan is on the academic.

Not that hes wrong in saying that UCLA has better academics.... but I sure as hell don't want my university's president saying that! What a loser!

Why? I am a very proud graduate of the University of Tennessee... that had a lot of other choices for college. The truth is, UCLA is a better academic school. The truth hurts, but it is what it is.

Worried about reputation? our reputation on the gridiron for the past 8 yrs has been soft and underachievers not to mention constant trouble with the local police during the summer.

Perhaps you need to rethink your statement because that is the reputation I want no part of.

I prefer the reputation of getting high caliber talent here and developing that talent to get them to the next level and putting the football program back to elite status.

This past summer we ZERO players in trouble with the police that says plenty to me about the Clapper and his former regime.

Who cares, look at the athletes we are getting now. I don't think anybody really thinks he did anything terrible except for the enemies of Tennessee.

-BUt what does this have to do with the price of Tea in China or Kiffins Hiring for that matter. What benefit is it to point out UT's weakness compared to UCLA's academically in this story. What kind of Elitist idiot is this. Go to the PAC-10 then Janni.

Spot on, and great post.

Everyone focuses on the negatives, but fails to realize the positive changes Kiffin has made.
