Freak,

A lot of rumors are abound that Shaeffer has committed to Tennessee, as well as the Ayers kid (LB) from SC.

We have papers on both. Both are big pickups.

Add Sinclair Cannon. I was a little worried about him so it's good to see that we have his papers.

Add Ramon Foster.

By my count. That leaves Arian Foster and James Turner that have committed but not signed yet.

Guys still out there that UT is in on include: Brian Toal, Roland Martin, Fred Bledsoe, Dannell Ellerbe, Joe Manning and Tony Carter.

Who the heck is Ramon Foster? Is that Jodi's brother or somethings?

BTW, it seems like we have taken a lot more "project players" this year than normal. Am I imagining that, or what do you think?

BTW II, I am pumped about Schaeffer. His coach about had a hissy fit describing what a good player and character person he was.

BTW III, we need more DBs.

BTW IV, I am glad we getting some really solid LBs.

BTW V, our line prospects don't appear to be all that special, on paper anyway.

I don't know much about Foster. Decent player. Not a stud.

I think we have signed a few project players but I really think some of the guys we have signed are way underrated. Sinclair Cannon, Chris Brown, etc.

Schaeffer is a nice pickup. It's nice that we signed a guy who has a great arm and has the ability to run.

We do need more DBs. Although I think Heffney, Johnson, and Cannon have potential at that position. I am still hoping for Carter or Manning to sign this afternoon.

This is a stud LB class.

Our line prospects are not all world (I assume you mean offense). Mayo is a solid center. Parker, Foster and Ash are projects. Toenia should see some serious PT next year.

Joe Manning went to FSU. He is a DB that I thought maybe we had a chance at.

Michigan State boards saying stud OL Roland Martin will officially sign with MSU. We could have used him - big time.

Typical...now they're saying Martin is not confirmed to MSU.  Anyone know?

I am hearing that his is not confirmed. He is not supposed to announce until later this afternoon. I sure would like to have him as well.

TC glad to have you here. I left the Guest posting option on by mistake. You will need to register to post again. It only takes a second. Thanks!!

Dannell Ellerbe signed with Georgia. No real big suprise.

Still left on the board:

Brian Toal
Roland Martin
Fred Bledsoe
Tony Carter

You have to assume that signing any of these guys would be somewhat of a longshot. Toal's mom wants him to go to BC, Martin wants to stay close to home and will probably end up at Michigan St. and Carter has ties to FSU and should sign there tonight.

I think Bledsoe is the only one that we may end up getting.

Turner is finally in the house. That's the end of the commitments that we have. Realisticly that could be it. We'll have to wait and see if we get any suprises later this afternoon.

Martin to MSU.

I thought it was interesting that he said it came down to MSU and Oklahoma.

Toal to BC, Bledsoe to Arkansas and Carter to FSU. Oh well, they were longshots anyway. We could have used one more lineman and a DB but I think it's a good class overall.
