Signature win?

I agree, signature win. I was the second poster on the thread and immediately agreed, however, let's be honest, this Auburn team will not sniff the top 25 again this season, has already lost 3 games and will be boatraced 3-4 more times this season. Things are never as good as they seem after a win, or as bad as they seem after a loss, that's still true, even now that we are on the winning side of that adage for the first time in the last 12 conference games.

Yo dont really know this - they may do well the rest of the season or they may despair and implode. Hard to say. This was a weak for a lot of upsets of highly rated teams. No one knows their season any more than they did who would win our game

Personally, I am elated that we won and how we won but I hope in 5 years I don't look back and say this was his signature win. BVD has destroyed our vision.

Auburn will end the season as a solid, ranked team.

Nah, Auburn already has 3 losses, they will have at least 2 more losses to Bama and UGA on the road. I also don't see them outscoring Ole Miss in Oxford, and they probably don't beat A&M either. They are 7-5 tops, 6-6 or 5-7 more likely.

Do you not think, though, that it’s his FIRST signature win?

Behr framed it quite eloquently with his checklist, as only Behr can.

No way in hell Auburn goes better than 2-2 against Bama, Georgia, A&M, and Ole Miss, 3 of 4 of which are on the road. That would be 7-5 for them to go 2-2 against that slate. Look, we have a lot to be proud of, we SOUNDLY beat a mediocre Auburn team, but Auburn IS mediocre, nonetheless we have usually in the very recent past been getting pistol whipped by mediocre teams as well as good ones. This is a big improvement and a huge step forward for our program, especially for recruiting, but let's not lie to ourselves about who Auburn is.

I think we can it any way we want to since there's no standard. I'm no signature win expert. I just think we've been beat down so badly that a little looks like a lot.

Before the season I decided I would wait till the end of the season to decide anything about CJP. We're too short sighted right now.
Thrilled about the win no matter what you call it

True, it’s pretty vague as a standard, actually subjective as hell.

Let’s just enjoy it for what it is in our own view.

A great win. Very proud of how the team and coaches did coming off a bye week.

The key will be to sustain and improve the rest of the way. That means beating Vandy, Kentucky, and SC (or, at least 1-2 of those teams). I'm not sure about our ability to score enough points to beat Missouri, but if our defense can play as well as they did today and limit Mizzou's scoring, who knows? We all need to keep our feet on the ground and not let thed thrill of a good win get our expectations up too much. The odds are that the upcoming Bama game is going to hurt -- This team and program is still very much a work in progress, but today was a very positiive sign.

Why does everyone worry about signature wins? Just because a coach wins one doesn't mean he will pan out.

I don't think many actually "worry" about it, but come on man, this type of game is what being a fan is all about. Different things are important to all of us, obviously some like to have a signature game for the coach, no biggie to me either way.

And Nothing means a coach will pan out, until he does, so IMO enjoy every second you can.

I hope this wasn’t his “signature” win.
I'm still not sure exactly what a signature win is, but I would assume it can change as season(s) progress. I mean, no one would argue that if we neat Alabama next week, Auburn would no longer be a signature win.

But I'd bet money that mattered you already knew that.

...and how many streaks did we break today. We finally...

* Beat Auburn
* Beat an SEC team
* Beat an SEC West team
* Beat a ranked team
* Beat a ranked team on the road
* Beat a team as a road underdog

Talk about how bad Auburn is all you want, I would have been thrilled with a 1 point home win over Arkansas today... This was huuuuge for the morale of this program!!!!!!!!!!!!

This win was Huge for future recruiting and should serve notice that Jeremy Pruitt has what it takes to win with less

I'm still so proud of this team. They are obviously working hard in practice and getting better. This was the point in the season last year when we threw up our hands and quit. There is none of that right now. Regardless of what happens next Saturday, there is hope for the future.

I think it is, Auburn is bad, but they are still Auburn. Great for recruiting.
it's not our falut they're bad. and to upset a team you're not supposed to beat, they generally have to do a couple things to help the underdog, and the underdog has to do things they've not shown to do.

both of those things happened yesterday, and yeah, this is a signature win.

we haven't beaten a west team since, what 2010?

and we do that, on the road, they're ranked, and we've lost 11 straight SEC games, and were more than 2 TD uderdog.

agree with recruiting aspect....that was huge. and hopefully we'll be able to capitalize on it. we've already beaten AU for several recruits/commits this cycle...be interesting to see if this helps with some other prospects, at least we have a result now....and it's not all talk.

We primarily recruit against Georgia and Auburn... of course this helps.

And a shame they kicked 35 out!

When three defenders converge on the running back, and the cornered running back lowers his head in ducking down, what can they expect these three who meet to stop the runner do! Stand up?

That was a bad call made within the rule, but that rule has to be reconsidered in this circumstance!

Soon we will be coaching our running backs to find a defenders head and go for head to head contact?

That rule has got to be clarified. Vols lose their best LB for the first half against Bama!

It ain't right!!!!!!!!!
