Just curious. Is anyone doing side work and if so What do you do?
People where I live, in Georgia, are always asking for a handyman, or grass cutter on the county Facebook page. I don't have time, but seems to be the 2 most requested services.

If you are good at being a handyman, it will become your full time job because it is an under taught skill. Learn how to paint and do flooring and you will be in demand. Youtube has created a bunch of diy handymen that probably have no business operating power tools on a regular basis. If you know your stuff you will have plenty of work.

I used to paint some on the side for extra $. I gave that up after I broke my leg, but I did redo my entire house last year, inside. Finished the garage about a month ago. I enjoy painting, just hurts my leg goung up and down a ladder now, pkus I gwt all the overtime I want at work.

I knew a guy who started running "hot shots" in N TX as a side hustle and ended up getting a CDL to haul cattle. Apparently there's money both in "hot shots" and hauling beef out there.

Small loads or single vehicles that need to be there fast.

Think of it as Fed Ex Overnight for larger items like cars or engines or critical well parts.
Panther (Express) made a kiiling doing that. If it wouldn't fit on a 26' box truck (and they were nice ones) it wasn't on the menu. THey would take any hot shot. Short haul, long haul. And charged a pretty penny for the service.

Single engine planes and smaller choppers used to make a nice living off a plant I worked at in NE GA. If parts missed a truck to Mercedes in Tuscaloosa we got charged 600K an hour (pro-rated to by the minute charges) for shutting a line down. Trucks left our dock every two hours, and when load time was over the trailer door shut. Wouldn't wait even 5 minutes on parts. THe trucks had a down to the minute unload appointment in Tuscaloosa they couldn't miss either. We'd pay 15K in a heartbeat to fly parts in if we missed the truck.
