Was thinking about what the loss of spring practice meant for the new players trying to come in and make a roster move. Then the thought came, how many players are still here because they couldn't judge their situation within their position group. We are probably going into August with 1 or 2 QB's who may have transferred; same for OL.

Should the coaches encourage guys to leave who now have less chance of playing? Tough call.

Biggest thing is we probably have to suffer through JG a little longer. If Bailey starts as a freshman with no spring practice then he is the next Manning. (Even though manning didn’t even start)

True, but there's also the flip side that at least we've got a 5th year guy at the helm who knows the offense inside and out...and in second year w/ Chaney, so you'd expect better execution...even if not top shelf. There's several teams, like Miz and GA, can't remember others...who have to break in a new QB w/ no spring practice at all w/ the team...so, maybe that's a positive to some degree?

Heck, I wouldn't rule out this year; we're heading in the right direction. Nobody saw the '85 and '89 teams winning it.
Ah, shoot.......this was meant for another topic. sorry.

In theory having a 5th year starter should be a huge benefit for us. I just lost faith in JG. I think he hears footsteps now after all the beating he has received. My only hope is this offensive line will give him some time which could lead to less mistakes.

No. Don't do this to yourself.

Thank-you. I'm going to hang my hopes on that theory as I had none before!

I think what we'll see are programs with new coordinators and lots of new faces will struggle. Programs that return experienced staffs and personnel will tend to do well. It bodes well for us. UGA may not be able to score much this season, their offense should struggle all year and their defense will be expected to carry them through. It won't happen they'll be on the field way to much and lose a lot of games late is my prediction. Murmurs increase to outright mumblings in Athens this year as again Kirby will find a way to again produce less while starting out with a lot more.

Add in the experience of the OL and we may be in better shape than most.

We just might have a running game that will make JG’s arm less the wildcard. OL is going to be best in a decade
