I hope this is true. He's a great kid who deserves a chance.

Two things about Dobbs in the NFL:

1) Keep in mind we've never seen him with legit QB coaching. NFL has some gurus that might make all the difference for him, who knows, but I'd like to see him get a chance.

2) If he isn't an NFL QB, I could easily see him becoming the next Antwaan Randle-El. Not unlike what Terrell Pryor is doing now, but I think Dobbs is twice the athlete that Pryor is.

That has to be the dumbest comment ever on VN. You have some serious bias issues.

But lets not act like he had an NFL offensive line protecting him.

Dobbs will be successful in the NFL because he's been successful in college without any protection. He's been running for his life the last 3 years and still making plays.

A major reason alot of highly decorated college QBs fail in the NFL is that they're not used to dealing with pressure from defensive lines. They're used to being surrounded by superior talent and when they get to the league and play on a bad team they don't know how to handle throwing the ball when your offensive line can't protect.

This is a major positive about Dobbs people are overlooking. He succeeded in spite of his offensive line. Not because of it. I can't think of many other big time college QBs you can say that about.

Hmmmm. Interesting points. And accurate.

I wonder if Josh has been too distracted by all the other commitments too. He's certainly smart. But even as a Sr, his progressions still are weak. Plus makes weird fails on easy throws. Hopefully with 1 focus, coachimg, and a year to marinate as a backup, he could be Peyton like mentally at QB. If so, then watch out.

Disclaimer: I scoffed at notion that Cam Newton could ever be NFL passer. So, I claim zero insight into these matters.

He's a great runner with nice vision once he gets going, but he gets exposed in the pocket. Those boys will eat him alive.

RG III had one of the very best rookie seasons in history before the injury. Dobbs is bigger and more durable though.

How is he too fragile when he hasn't been hurt, even with the pounding he takes due to the oline?

How is his arm too weak? He has thrown many deep passes. He probably has more arm strength than half the NFL starting qbs. Accuracy is what makes the qb, not arm strength. He has good arm strength for the NFL.

He has made a few bad decisions. All qbs do. Most of the time when he is hurried he doesn't have time to make a good or bad decision. The d is in the backfield in 1.5 seconds. Brady or Manning can't make a good decision in that amount of time either.

He has a chance. He is the best SEC qb this year. If you can be the best qb in the best conference you at least have some chance at an NFL career.

Dobbs will not survive a running QB role in the NFL. They will kill him. They are stronger and faster than even the average SEC player.

Yes he has thrown long in college, but he doesn't have the zip. He lofts the ball downfield. And he is not accurate either. Jennings caught the Hail Mary at GA that Dobbs threw but passes like that in the NFL get picked.

His best bet is use his BS degree in Engineering and be a frequent visitor in Neyland.
