Don't need to be a smarta$$. I said that because when they fired Pruitt they were going to owe him millions. Firing for cause allows us to use the money that would have legally gone to Pruitt and use it for covering expenses of the damage Pruitt caused...Because they're not paying Heupel? Uh.......
This thread made my head spin. I guess people don't realize that the AD is separate from the academic side? Money coming into the AD gets spent on AD things, except for the scholarships that have to be paid to the school.
Just an honest question. If a recruit is “out of state”, does the AD pay the university out of state rates or in state rates to the University? IE. is the cost of the scholarship the same for the in state recruit as it is for the Out of state recruit? I know the out of state student has to pay a lot more in tuition.
Agreed. Should have fired him after the Kentucky game without cause, pay out his contract, instead of falling on our sword to save a few million. That decision was just another bonehead move by the UT administration. We shoulda settled with this clown. It's put us behind the 8 ball with guys. I get not paying him, I understand the logic. But, paying $2 to save $8 has hurt us from a regional and national level. Settle and be done with it.
you are now my favorite poster. everyone wants to hold Plowmans jock for her. From day 1 its been a **** show.Agreed. Fulmer been fired when he extended Pruitt; plowman also should’ve had all say in football operations removed when she signed off on that. We then hire Steele for a brief interim position which Fulmer and Plowman signed off on. The level of incompetence and financial mismanagement is astounding. We shoulda settled with this clown. i'm a fulmer guy. hindsight being 20/20 and emotionality removed that was a huge **** showFulmer been fired when he extended Pruitt; plowman also should’ve had all say in football operations removed when she signed off on that. The really aggravating thing to me is I don’t think Fulmer was dumb. Really think he knew they would try to force him out and that extension of Pruitt was to further anchor himself in for the long haul. It’s was a political move more than a move for the program imo.i'm a fulmer guy. hindsight being 20/20 and emotionality removed that was a huge **** show

CPF doubling down on Pruitt with the extension was probably a huge part of his self-analysis that led him to his bail out decision over yielding to pride and arrogance and trying to fix the mess left behind. Classic FOOL ME ONCE situation. I have never heard for sure whether the whistle blower routed the dirty deeds through or around CPF or cc'd one or the other, but even if he got it first, I bet it did not take a rocket scientist to see long odds to be able to remain and mitigate the damage to the level we SEEM to have with the plan executed.
Owning that hire and insulating Boyd and Plowman was the money play from our side and they at that time would probably not want to take any risk of him not being as clean as the investigations seem to indicate. It is possible that ZERO residual players in the chain of command after opening the doors during the entire investigation was the play and necessary to make the FOR CAUSE dang near bullet proof. Making CPF a victim was important. There is no silk purse at the end of this road, but hopefully we are not left with the stench of large chunks of hog rotting inside the AD. As far as CPF and the bad acts, I think he was part of the margins taken while excising the cancer that was Pruitt and his team members involved. Bet there were others that simply followed orders and knew they were turning a blind eye rather than raising a flag. Tough spot when you like your job and can convince yourself they were maybe just pushing the envelope. Hoping the information released at the end gives us a pretty complete picture of what actually went down, redacted or not
