Just saw an article from SI online concerning "under the radar" heisman candidates. Guess who wasn't on there. 10 guys, including Mays. But maybe that means he is an "above-the-radar" heisman candidate?

Heisman is joke period. Heisman jinx? Yes if you mean we picked the highest profile player on the best team and not the best college player .The Heisman trophy winner will be exposed in the pros. Eric Berry will succeed whereever he goes.

As far as I have read personally SI shows a LOT of love for #14, I highly doubt they intended what you interpreted. :hi:

Do you think that EB should be considered “under the radar”? I mean the university launched a big campaign for him.

No surprise there---UT players always get disrespected in heisman consideration, especially by big media like ABC/ESPN/CBS.

Nice rhyme there at the end.:)

Who cares about this. Berry is the best safety to play in college since Sean Taylor, and the best in the country. You know it, I know it, everyone who has seen TN play over the last 2 years knows it. Just enjoy watching him roam around for another 13 games this year.

They do have high regard for EB, They put him as under the radar due to the fact he is a defensive guy. We all know who the last defensive player was to win heisman. He does not fit in the status quo for heisman candidates therefor they put him as "under the radar".

Jimmy Clausen is on there? bahahah...:eek:lol:

I thought it funny that the OP thought EB should be lumped with that group and because he wasn’t that he was being disrespected. The OP did a far better job of disrespecting EB than SI did.

I agree. Heisman has got the ESPN fix. Everyone knows the fix is in on the award. Who you want? Who do we cover all day and talk about even when nothing good is goin on??

Eric Berry is considered a fringe top 5 candidate right now, which means a trip to NYC.

He is "on the radar".

Jeez, it's like we're trying to take Michigan's most insecure fanbase title away.

i'll bet anyone here that berry doesn't get a trip to NYC. he's a safety who doesn't return punts or kicks playing for at best an 8 or 9 win team. you'll be lucky if he even gets a single vote. kiffin is smart to do the heisman thing for recruiting, but you can't possibly think the guy has a chance.

Who cares? We love the grit and passion EB brings every Sat. Heisman smeisman that kid is going to leave a legacy future defensive players will strive for. As fans we will look back fondly at what this young man has started.

EB isnt that good, he picked off a bunch of average joe QB's last year. He is in a conference that doesnt have good QB's. All you people will realize after the UF game that UF has a lot of EB's on the team
