I'm thinking it was to address some issue, pointedly...to an individual. I think many times in sports commentary there are 5 comments you didn't hear that bring out the comment thats made public.surprised he made that comment. heard the interview on SS this morning. Shula is far to classy an individual to bring stuff like that up.
i agree with that, and that's probably the case. but hearing it, the tone of the voice etc...it just sounded like someone holding on to something a little too tightly, not wanting to let something go......and i would think DS would be "above" making a statement like that, regardless of the context of the question....i think that's what surprised me more than anything......I'm thinking it was to address some issue, pointedly...to an individual.
