Why are people going asterisk happy in sports? Bonds now this? If the Pats do win out, which I don't think they will, then people should recognize them has one of the NFL's best instead of trying to poke holes in the team dominating them.

I don't know..I think a clear case of cheating makes a strong case in itself. As Shula pointed out, they probably didn't need whatever they got out of it, but it is still an indelible truth that they cheated and got caught.

Miami used to have the Pats # the past couple of seasons. After Shula's statements i'll go ahead and predict the score of the next Pats- Phins game

didn't the dolphins get in trouble for the way or timing of hiring shula? kinda of ironic don't ya think?

surprised he made that comment. heard the interview on SS this morning. Shula is far to classy an individual to bring stuff like that up.

I'm thinking it was to address some issue, pointedly...to an individual. I think many times in sports commentary there are 5 comments you didn't hear that bring out the comment thats made public.

i agree with that, and that's probably the case. but hearing it, the tone of the voice etc...it just sounded like someone holding on to something a little too tightly, not wanting to let something go......and i would think DS would be "above" making a statement like that, regardless of the context of the question....i think that's what surprised me more than anything......

i would have expected anything other than saying it may deserve an asterik like Barry Bonds.....

I didn't think the Pats were going to go undefeated, with possible losses to the Giants and Steelers left on the schedule... But Shula just did it in. At the least, the next Pats-Phins game should be an epic beatdown.

It's stranged how every football program used to feature someone saying "It's amazing how the Patriots are able to win like they do in today's game. No one else can do it. How do they do it?" I mean, basically everytime you saw the Pats, something to that effect was said. Now that they've been caught cheating, no one says that.
