Other guys had a few turns, but he was the main defender on Denson last game, and Brown today. Denson averages 19.2ppg, Richardson held him to a season low 3. Brown averages 19.7ppg, Josh held him to a season low 8.

Way to go RichieRich

That is the kind of defense--against top players for opponents--that wins big basketball games. Keep it up, man--good work.

Had a great steal at A&M game that would have been the first part of the story about the comeback, had Stokes hit the free throw.

He has been playing most number of minutes as well.. Defending the best player, and still staying away from foul trouble.. awesome man!

Rich's off ball D has been as good as anyone in conference this year. He's been kicking ass.

I can see J. Rich being picked up by a team as a hard nosed defender off the bench. Every now and then teams will pick up a player like Richardson as a lock-down defender off the bench. I'm really excited to see the type of player he will be next year.

We also should give ccm more love as this waz his recruit. I've questioned ccm's coaching ability as much as a lot of folks, but not sure any coach in the country could have gotten more progress from jrich.

“@wesrucker247: #Vols' Josh Richardson has held SEC's two leading scorers to 0 FGs the past 2 games. Both got 1 FG against Vols, but not on Richardson.”

we may have seddpoy and sec poy on the same team. Prolly not, but could make an argument for Jrich and Stokes. Stokes' double double numbers deserve high praise and recognition. Top 3 in the Country, I think. We make runs with McRae out. Did tonight. We buy time when Stokes is out.

JRich is my favorite UT bball player, followed closely by Stokes and A Moore is quickly rising up the list.

With Tone playing the way he is, I agree that Stokes is the more important of the 2 (Stokes/McRae). Jordy hasn't been playing his best ball the last few games, the good news is 1. He hasn't let it hurt his defense and 2. We haven't really needed his best ball.

If we play many more games I'm sure there's gonna come a stretch where we need his scoring ability. I'm with you though, Jarnell Stokes does not get near the recognition that he deserves IMO. You hear all about Julius Randle, and rightfully so, but as far as college player...Stokes is better.

Can't bold ur quote but I'd argue McRae has played some of his best ball the last 3 games.

Best overall I agree, but not offensively. 10-33fg and 5-19 from 3.

That's what I say is scary about our last 3 games. We've blown people out, without shooting lights out. Against Virginia we shot 60% from 3, we shoot 60% from 3 today and we win 90-45 instead of 72-45.

I don't remember Chris' numbers, but he did some research about when we shoot certain percentages. It seemed like it was 50% from field and 40% from 3, when we shoot better than those numbers we won almost all our games, however when we shot less than that percentage we almost always lost. Basically saying, if we aren't having a good shooting night, we lost more often than not. Over the last 3 games we are around 45% fg and 35% 3pt fg, those are pretty normal offensive numbers, but our defense is at a seasons best.
