This stirs memories from my childhood. Nice to see they're still going strong there.

On a related note, I was really impressed with the Yee Haw Brewery in Johnson City the last time I was there. I believe that is a former station building along the old Tweetsie Railroad.

My cousin taught me to clog at the Carter Fold in Hiltons VA when I was probably five, it was not fun. Also Tweetsie was the first amusement park I remember going to. The gun fight during the train robbery was one of my favorite things.

I'm wonderin if dey still have injuns wavin fake scalps attackin the tweetsie train. Kinda doubt it and am gettin old but hell at least we had the semblance of a "childhood"

I live in Boone and can affirm that many years ago, long after countlesss woke parents complained about the portrayal of the indignities of the indigenous peoples, the Indian raid and gunfight were "massacred" at Tweetsie.

I worked at Tweetsie as a cowboy and/or Indian while attending ASU in the 80's. Well, we picked up a lot of trash too, lol

In our day it wasn't a successful shift unless the kids were scared enough so at least one or two schitt or pizzed themselves.

I still hear stories every year of some adult saying the train raid was one of the most rememberable moments of their childhood.

On 1 trip there when I was around 5-6 I got to hold the bag of gold dust 'to keep it safe ', while the they went out to have the gun fight.
