Hopefully the girls she coaches at Austin-East High saw this and are giving Gwen her props for being remembered so fondly for being so competitive by one of the most competitive players ever.

I'll bet DT thinks about the epic 2001 game in front of 21K at TBA when she thinks about Gwen. I sure do. With Catchings out w career ending knee injury, Gwen, Kara Lawson, and Ace (the real Ace) Clement led the LVs to an incredible 92-88 upset win over the DT/Sue Bird Hussies. Probably the best LV game I've ever seen at TBA.

Gwen was a fun player, always high energy. I hope the young ladies at A-E appreciate what a career she had.

The 01 UConn game at TBA only gets edged out for my all time fave because I was at Vandy in March '98 for the legendary regional final where the 39-0 team pulled off an epic comeback win over No Carolina to save the natty season.
