Don’t know if it’s been posted or not but I saw that Byron Young came back and got his degree. Congratulations to him! First in his family to do so. In the NIL day and age, it is refreshing to see someone take advantage of a potentially life changing education.
The NFL will pay for your education once you are in the league. A friend of got his Masters while playing for the Saints & the NFL paid for it.

Additional football Vols who participated in commencement ceremonies this weekend included Hunter Barnes, Deon Hardin, Wendell Moe Jr., Carson Whitehead, Montrell Bandy, Joshua Helsdon, Gus Hill, Seamus Meagher, Nathan Robinson, Jackson Ross and Jourdan Thomas. Earlier this spring, Thomas was awarded as a Torchbearer, representing the university's highest undergraduate honor.

I know that the NFL / NFLPA paying for early out guys to go back and get degrees is a newer facet to either this latest bargaining agreement or the one just prior.
It's a huge deal all around. Guys going back and getting degrees understand that playing football forever (to the point where you can live out your days on the earnings) is not guaranteed.

I once heard AJ Hawk get asked what one piece of advice he could give to young guys entering the league early would be and he replied "Go back, get your education. Even if you are a superstar, there are so many more opportunities if you carry that degree".

FWIW - I wouldn't mind seeing some of these names back on The Hill one day on the sidelines. You can coach and teach a lot, but attitude begets attitude. We need coaches that carry the swagger and attitude some of these guys carry to rub off on future VFLs.

We run a program called Renewing Academic Commitment (RAC) that many who left without degrees have used.
