Should we be let down?

Even if you had the "great" vision to see that this team were overachievers, you still have to feel "letdown" after this team performed so high above all reasonable expectations. I think everyone knew it wouldn't last all season but you still have to be proud of this group of players. Their success in the dance will depend alot on the teams they draw as partners and hopefully the will out perform expectations again, if not, still a great season.

A few thoughts:

1. I don't think ANYONE around here was predicting such a successful season last fall. We had some HUGE wins this year, were a ton of fun to watch, and have found a great coach. How can you feel let down?

2. We have a very short bench with marginal talent, even in the starters. Just wait until Pearl gets Crews, Chism, et al going.

3. The SEC is down this year, IMO. I mean, we are the highest ranked team in the SEC, and honestly, we can look pretty mediocre (see yesterday). Take the wins for what they're worth, but let's not all get super-psyched about making a final-four run this year. I just don't see it happenning.

4. The year ain't over, though. Who knows? We get rested (and healed) up, pumped up, and catch some breaks. . . .strange things can happen. Don't jump ship quite yet.

All in all, let's remember the great season for what it was and look forward to the building of a basketball superpower.

Thanks, Bruce. Go Vols. Let's Dance.
