Should UT try Coker at WR???

I like the idea of having 3 solid RBs... 4 if you count Creer in the mix. An injury to one of them and the value of the others rise. And... from game to game it seems as if one of the RBs has the "hot hand" and we ride their back a bit.

Based on depth at RB, I'd like to see split backs (Pro Set) with Foster/Hardesty and Coker/Creer. West coast offense similar to the 49ers in the day, with the TE back.

I'd like to see someone else get a shot at WR opposite Taylor and use a 2 WR set. Austin dropped a wide open TD pass.

Yeah, we should just change our whole offense in mid season. I'm sure that will work out great.

I agree 100%. Come to think about it I think you and me had this discussion in the pre-season.

If he does that well against Alabama or South Carolina then I will jump the Hardesty wagon:)
I am already on the Hardesty bandwagon that guy hits the hole fast. He compliments Foster well. If Coker would tighten up we would have a 3 headed monster for a backfield.

Austin rodgers is taking up space out there. They need to get someone out there that can catch. All i can figure is rodgers family must be donating huge sums of money just like daddy clausen did. I guess karl's dad is donating too.

Real tight competition at RB for the Vols this year. All 3 bring a different style to the table. Then you have the Frosh Creer playing pretty good also. I really don't know the answer to this one....Maybe keep playing them all....I don't know.

I understand everyone's frustration with Rogers but I think people need to quit focusing on a couple of dropped balls and think about that other things that he adds that those riding the pine are apparently unable to do. He's a good blocker, he runs excellent routes (especially on 3rd downs), and he is definately not afraid to go over the middle. He also appears to be on the same page with the QB most of the time which is extremely important since we run the no-huddle and check out of plays so often.

I don't know how effective Coker would be at WR. We haven't seen him, so we could only speculate. I wouldn't have the confidence that our other WRs could block for Coker on a screen. I also don't know that Coker could learn the routes quickly enough to be effective in the time he would be alloted. I would say just keep him at RB, maybe we can have a Ronnie Brown/Caddy Williams by the time they're Seniors. Possibly start using Coker as a hybrid guy, like how the Saints use Reggie Bush even.

QFT. He has the intangibles down. He just needs to focus, and I know that's his only problem. He'll get over it.

I hope.

As for Coker, to me he shows very little effort when he gets the ball. He has had chances to impress the coaches but has failed. Sorry guys, while I think he does have alot of speed, I'm not impresses with his game to this point. I'm looking for effort, execution, and enthusiasm and Coker appears to have left those back home with his grass. Good game Foster and great hard inspired running by Hardesty. It's clear that when Hardesty is healthy he plays like a man possessed and had has made his case to be featured in the rotation.

That was always the case. And that case was how Hardesty got injured. I'm worried about him, because he does go on the field and gives his all for Tennessee. And he has gotten injured for it. If I could be promised that Hardesty would not get injured in his remaining tenure at UT, I would support him 110%. I'm just concerned for his durability and his lack of concern for his own durability.
