i am a huge crompton fan but he needs more playing time in my opinion and coker went to high school 10 minutes from me and the kid is a stud so why is foster starting besids cokers drug problems when he isnt getting anything done?

JC will get a chance next year to earn his start. EA is head and shoulders ahead of him. Making that switch would be a HUGE mistake.

Coker's off field issues notwithstanding, he should be starting because he puts different type of pressure on the D

crompton.. why? what has he shown? It doesn't matter with coker. I like foster in the game (if he can hold onto the ball) because he has the ability to break through people. Coker needs a better o-line to perform efficiently. honestly though, no rb can do a good job w/ this o-line.

which brings this question. How is it possible for an o-line to give such good pass protection, but can't do anything for running plays?

I could be proven wrong but I don't think JC will be a very good qb. His throwing motion is weird and I just don't think he can make all the throws.

which throws do we need him to make?

Honestly, if he couldn't make the throws required of this offense today, he should never have been even a HS QB.

Ainge is not doing anything to warrant being pulled. he's still our best chance at winning, at the qb spot.

i do think Coker should see some p/t as well as creer.

as much as we heard about AF this past off season, and i really am not slamming the kid here, he simply doesn't have it. i drank the kool aid on AF, and thus far, minus the 2nd half of the USM game, i have not been impressed.

Valid point with how we throw now days. Really though I think all the short stuff is a combo of Ainge's finger and the wr's.

Ainge's biggest problem right now is there is no running game to speak of to take any pressure off his arm, and the WR's don't have the game breaking ability we had last season.

as for crompton, like Beef said, he'll get his shot next year, and if all goes well, he'll live up to the hype, after having been in the system for 3 years, and plug right in.

emphasis on the wrs. there is not a deep threat on the field. don't know for sure if they are on the sideline or not, but regardless, they are not in the game.

Your right! At this point EA is the best QB. JC will be a very good QB but right now Erik is the best option. Maybe Coker can get going again this weekend

They're completely different beasts. With pass protection, you play containment. You just need to make sure that your mark does not get to, or rush the passers progression. That's simplified, but for the most part it.

Rush blocking is a lot different than that. What kind of rushing attack do you have? I promise this, you take ONE crucial element out of a line, and the whole thing goes down. That's what McNeil said about this year and last. The line wasn't always doing the same thing. One side would, the other wouldn't so it wouldn't matter. Or they both just wouldn't. With Coker... if he gets to the outside, I'm confident he's gone. But he needs to be able to get the ball and get to the outside without being pressured or contained by a DL or LB.

Ainge seems to be ok. we need more running . If we cant establish any sort of running game it wont really matter who the QB is.
This isnt exactly on topic but maybe we should let the 2nd string defensive guys play. I dont see how they could do much worse.

as for Crompton starting? No. I think he'll be fine. He stepped in as a Freshman and played pretty well, considering, in the LSU game. He is still far below EAs abilities, and his composure.

Coker? I don't think he should start, but I DO think he should get more than 4 carries a game.

Going to Crompton now would be an indication that Fulmer is euthanizing his own career. It would be akin to Nolan Richardson telling Frank Broyles to fire him.
