Should Butch issue statement?

With all of the media outlets putting Jones in Virginia Tech's top 5-10 coaching lists and with the majority of their fanbase believing they will lure Butch away from Tennessee, should he come out and issue a statement?

Should Hart offer more money now? Would he go? Will he at a minimum at least listen to his dear friend, the AD at Tech?

What are your thoughts?

No. Hart should NOT offer Butch more money.

If Butch wants to go somewhere else....he should go.

We are Tennessee. We were Tennessee before Butch and will be Tennessee after Butch.

Butch has not proven himself to be worth more than he is currently making.

If...and that's a BIG if....he get's to 9 this year....give him a small raise since it would be the first time we have won 9 or more since Phil was here.

8 wins DOES NOT get you a raise at Tennessee.

If he would rather go to VT....I'm sure we could get a crew of folks together to help him pack.

I like Butch.... But if he'd rather be at that piss hole of a program than at Tennessee..... Hit the road inbred jack

If Butch would rather be at Virginia Tech, so be it. Thanks for getting the roster stocked, we're gonna beat your ass in Bristol though. Just saying..

Hart already made this stupid mistake once with CBJ and put UT on the line for a huge buyout if things go bad. No sense in encouraging Hart to double up on his first blunder. Let the man get thru 75% of his contract time and win some quality games and earn the extension before we go down the road prematurely again.

We went through this with Meat Chicken. He got a raise and extension and people were relieved. Then we loss three close games this year and this esame people got amnesia and started complaining. Let it play out. Control what you can control. No one wants to go to Va Tech.

If there is even any truth to all this, Hart should call his bluff this time. No way he wants to go to VT.

Just messing with ya bud, also, I do not think Butch would leave what he has worked so hard to build even for a $1 Mill raise, he can get that raise here if he performs well enough next year.

You don't issue a statement for every baseless rumor out there. One dude tweets that the VT AD is a afan of Jones and people think there is something to it. There are plenty of coaches with ties to AD's and schools, people can make up anything and throw it out there. No he should not issue a statement and even if he did, it wouldn't mean a thing. Let's just quit giving credibility to people who have no real info therefore try to connect dots and put it out there. Literally, all the football scoop guy said was that Babcoock was a fan of Butch Jones. That's it. This is insane.

No, I mean is the suggestion that Butch should possibly give any response to some random rumor from Scott Roussel for real. I can't believe we are having these discussions.
