Unless I missed something Arian Foster went from a 2nd round pick last year to going undrafted this year. Is this a direct byproduct of the "clawfense"? I know everyone is going to spout off about fumbles and what not, but this guy went from guaranteed money to jack s**t by coming back to play for us. Very sad in my opinion.

Yeah, I'm just on the verge of tears. I'm waiting for the mental giants who disagreed with me when I said Foster was worthless to try and spin this one.

He should only blame him if Clawson told him to be immature, slow, and to never run anyone over.

or another way to look at it, TT's to blame because he bolted to OSU

I like that it's Clawful's fault better though

Why would anyone blame Clawson for Foster not having the talent to get drafted?

1 legit reason: the strong/quick blocking scheme last year, and it's apparent predictability to any opposing defense. Our O-line looked absolutely nothing like it did the year before... and that was Clawson's fault.

But don't take that as a defense to Foster, the fumbling dinosaur. I definitely think that he earned that drop in his draft stock.

Our line's performance was as much or more on Adkins than Clawson. Foster took a bad gamble and lost badly given a new staff and a realistic assessment of his skills and left with a 2nd round grade.

I was hoping he'd leave because returning guaranteed that he'd start and get most of the carries and I was hoping to see more of Hardesty and Creer.

If he had NFL talent, someone would have taken him. Yea our offense was crap last year but there are people that get paid a lot of money to evaluate players.

I have nothing against A Foster at all and I appreciate him coming back for 2008, as ill-fate as it was. But the facts are the facts, he's not very fast, not especially ellusive, and doesn't use his mass in the most productive fashion (i.e. a bruiser). However, he does catch well out of the backfield, block fairly well, and work hard. Hopefully he'll still get the chance to make a squad.

Foster was told he might go in the second round. Look at where some of the running backs that had higher grades than Arian got drafted. There was not a chance in Hades he would get picked up in the 2nd.

My first thought as well.

There were some with much lower grades going in the 5th as well.

The collective NFL brass just didn't like him.

Two words. "Senior Bowl".

When playing with/against your peers you either show out or get blown out. Ayers showed out and you know the rest.

True, the Clawfense was horrid, but there is a high correlation between Foster's draft status and his performance at the NFL combine.

If the scouts thought he had the talent they would have looked past last year. AF doesn't have the speed to be a finesse back but isn't particularly physical either.

If he wants to blame something he should probably look at his camp performances.

I wanted to post this but I'm glad you already did, you'll get almost no rebuttals on this statement whereas if I had made it originally I would've had a much different reaction.

Foster has no one but himself to blame. He should have cashed in when his stock was high.
