Can't say I remember him much at Penn St and I watched a few games. Not even when Bama played franklin's crew at Vandy. So far, what I've heard, no one in the SEC will be able to run the football on his defense, no one. And he's willing to take a lot of chances on passing downs. Sounds like a risk, reward kind of guy.
I'd be curious if you even knew what you were watching. Most Bama fans mistake cheering for a winning team as some sort of football knowledge. Most Bama fans I've seen are drooling messes that are fortunate when someone outside of the state can understand what they are trying to communicate. That or they are bandwagon fans. In which case, their opinion has no value.
It changed the final score, make of it what you will. As far as the LOS, Tenn had plenty of time to make it happen on their final drive. It was our defensive front at the LOS that stopped cold any notion of a comeback.
TN didn't have enough to time on the final drive. Our offense is a run oriented read option. Without much time on the clock Bama knew that Dobbs wasn't going to pull it and run so they just blitzed the house. Put 3 or 4 minutes on the clock then we would of had a chance to drive down and miss a game winning field goal
You must not remember how we played last year. What would be nice is fans like you will stop with all the slanted underhanded comments about Butch etc.People tend to misremember last year's hype. We weren't picked to win the East, and in fact, we haven't been picked to win it since 2005. Also, last year was the first time we've been picked to finish higher than 4th in the SECEast in years. We just weren't being completely dismissed last year like we have been for nearly the last decade and people were pointing out a lot of our talented players and calling us a dark horse....but never the favorite.
That being said, the bullseye is squarely on Butch and the boys now and we're gonna have to see how they respond. I hope they man up and embrace the expectations and we don't get anymore far-reaching, mealy-mouth excuses from the head coach. It's set up for Tennessee to assume its rightful place atop the East and as a perennial SEC championship contender. Let's see if they can do it.
