Sherrer, Rumph, and Rocker

Pruitt has a mighty thin Rolodex. These 3 guys coached with him in the past. They leave and get replaced by a guy he fired after 4 games, a former Quality Control assistant, and his TE coach. Part of our problem is that these guys aren’t getting it done, and the word has gotten out that he is hard to work for. Good luck getting folks to join the sinking ship. If went down in 2012 and 2017.

Some would say that Saban is hard to work with because he is demanding. The difference is that Saban has earned the right.

My take is that we lost a lot when we lost those three on the defensive side. I don't know which one(s) of those three were doing the heavy coaching lifting, but it is clear that we miss them. We were a rapidly improving defense last year, especially in the second half. We have gone from lights out after half time adjustments to whatever the opposite of that is. I don't know why they left exactly, but if it was over recruiting then I don't like it. I'd rather see the 12th ranked recruiting class coached up than see a Top 5 class go to waste.

I also wonder if we're already missing Fitzgerald's S&C leadership. Did Sherrer pull him to the NYG job?

I haven't read everything here so siap.

Agree 100 percent, I have me toned this in several threads lately. I remember volquest touting how they were great teachers. You dont hear any of that these days. Dont hear them talking about how players are developing and getting better. They did last year. Think about what this staff did with left overs of butch jones classes. We are more talented now but getting less out of them across the board.

save Trey Smith and josh Palmer the Vols don’t have any really good players!
It is what it is
Want to win, get the best players

I thought we had good players, either they offense is to complicated for them or its something else.

The Saban way had produced his fair shake of head coaches. Those assistants haven’t produced anyone.
