From ohio. Family graduated as buckeyes. Citrus bowl of 95 changed everything. People up north don't understand the love and passion Tennessee fans have! My family and I drive 478 miles one way to watch the VOLS on Saturdays at home...wouldn't trade these special times for anything with my 3 boys!

Grew up in Kingsport in early 50's and 60's. My dad was a die hard Vol fan and influenced me. I have lived and died with the Vols for over 50 years. I live in Alabama now and everyone who knows me knows I'm a VFL. Two of my three children have switched to the dark side (Bama fans) - but I'll bleed orange until the day I die.

1985 was the year..i was 9, I'm from Memphis and my cousin is about 8-9 years older than me he went to UT and always brought me back hats and gear. The Sugar Vols got me loving the Vols and it's never stopped..the first visit to Neyland was like Disneyland to me even though we played Vandy..the Andy Kelly years

Mine was 1985 and I was 9 too. My first Neyland trip was Andy Kelly and Pickens torching Auburn. Never forget it.

In the blood. Dad's side from East Tennessee and he worked for the railroad so we moved a few times. Childhood in KY which wasn't great during round ball season. Moved again to FL where I had the distinct pleasure to attend UF during Spurrier's reign of terror. Have proudly worn Orange my whole life. Even got a little blood on it once or twice, sometimes mine and sometimes someone else's. Wouldn't change it for the world.

Grew up in Alabama, so being around bama fans 24/7 made me realize I didn't want any part of that.

Well the main reason was that my Dad was a Vols fan.

Grew up in rural west Tn. Two channels on the tv without going outside to turn the antennae. I never missed a vols game. John Ward was so magnificent at his craft that you never felt like you were missing out by not getting to watch the game. You were there, transported by his voice and his descriptive narrative. I could go cut firewood in the woods with my dad and brothers and go to the game at the same time, or fishing or just sit around and listen to the game. When they did come on tv how many of you would turn down the sound and listen to John call the game? I loved the hearing him talk before the game, after the game; or the call in shows during the week. No disrespect but, I never listen the radio during games anymore unless I have no alternative. John wasn't the reason I am a vol but he is the reason that I love the Vols.

Listening to dad yell at the radio during Vol games. We would listen to it outside with the car radio cause mom was anti-?. He played HS football in Greeneville and would take us by Neyland whenever we traveled through Knoxville. Before ya know it, and years later...my dad and I where yelling at the TV "Run Shuler"......"alright...we got the first down". Since those days...always seen orange. Wouldn't have changed a thing.

My favorite uncle took me to a game in Memphis when tennessee played ole miss. I was pretty young but I remember everything about it. Loved the T on the helmets, the color orange. He could recall almost every stat and the history of the Vols. I've been religiously watching them ever since. He died just a few years after our national championship in 1998. He was the first one to call me seconds after the game. I miss him greatly. I think he would approve of Coach Jones, I know I do.

I grew up in Kentucky right on the Tennessee line. It was about 45 minutes to Knoxville and all of our local channels came from there except one. That one played anything ky related and all of my family was ky fans. I always got mad as a little kid because ky never lost, they were cheated anytime they lost. I watched a Tennessee game one weekend when I was about 8 and thought, I like this team. It grew from like, to love, and now a scary sometimes sad obsession!

It's in my DNA. Couldn't be any other way even if I wanted to, and definitely don't. Now that I live in Birmingham, I appreciate my time in Knoxville even more. Working hard down here in enemy territory to raise three children as Vol fans. So far so good!! :)

Grew up listening to the VOLS on the radio... back in the Mallon Faircloth era. I used to love the Knoxville Sentinel pics on Sundays with the arrows pointing to specific players during the games. First game I saw in person, I couldn't get out of my mind was Curt Watson busting holes thru the line. Then I remember Kiner and Reynolds hitting people in person... man those were some beasts.

Enjoyed those "Dyer-grams" in the Sunday paper; in high school with Curt Watson; first game in Neyland 1964; first road game in 1970 in Columbia SC while in Army BCT.:clapping::whistling:

My most memorable Tennessee football game was the 1992 South Carolina game at South Carolina. They filmed some of a movie there called the program.
