Seth Greenberg on Grant Williams.

That pretty much sums ESPN up. They don't know one of the best players in the country on the #1 team in the nation? Nice work doing your job. Just keep rolling those Zion highlights and talking about Duke and Kentucky.

When ESPN got into politics and other things that was it for me. It's things like what you've posted that are reasons why I have zero regrets of no longer watching/listening to them

ESPN is crazy sometimes. Even on his own team its not clear cut Zion is best player. RJ Barrett is just as good. But ESPN loves the highlight reel dunks Zion gets all the publicity.

At one time I watched at least one or two SportsCenter's every day. Along with shows like PTI & Around the Horn. Are those even still on?

Now I only watch games. It's probably been 4 or 5 years since I last watched a episode of SportsCenter.

What? They even talk on their shows about how they for the most part only follow pro players or the big name programs.

The CBB guys know GW. That is why they have experts.

I think most sports people know Duke's one and done guys who have been celebrities for years already. CBB experts know about GW. Not the average Sportscenter anchor who cover highlights form all sports and all leagues.

He’s a good player but there’s simply no need to alternate between highlights with Lebron.

He may end up better than LeBron. And I hate Duke. Zion is special. I don't think we have ever seen a year like this. Its well deserved. He is much better than Barrett and the clear Number 1 draft pick.

Besides dunking. What is he clearly better than Barrett in? Barrett is more comparable to a larger healthier Blake Griffin than LeBron. Barretts game is more all around but not near as electrifying which is why he doesnt get the acknowledgment that Zion does.

They're too busy trying to be funny, dancing, and silly to worry about actual content. Gary Parrish and Jeff Goodman are probably 2 of the best CBB guys.

Zion has no game beyond 4 feet from the bucket, GW on the other hand has a nice mid-range game and is working on his 3-point shot. Add to that GW's assists per game, steals and defense, GW is a way more complete player than Zion by far.

He’s being promoted for dunking. That Doesent make him special. Nate Robinson can dunk.

Rebounding, defense, team play, efficiency so I'd also say a better scorer. Barrett has abetter jumper. That is about it. he is a gunner.

Check the PER or any advanced stat.

You haven't watched many games then. He handles the ball better than GW. Rebounds and defends better. More efficient. Nice mid range game also.

I love GW's game. Zion is like GW with Lebron's athleticism though.

There is a great reason he will be the number 1 pick. He could end up an All Time Great.

Someone else who doesn't watch. He is literally setting records right now.

I hate that people who have no clue force me to defend a Duke player.

Gahhh. Is that ever the truth. I don't have cable and only watch ESPN to see actual games in FB or BB if they carry. Despise ESPN on a variety of levels. That being said, I've been hitting their site and watching all the games more than usual this year with our run. I'm truly amazed at how distorted their coverage of CBB really is. Every where you go or watch, it's constant UK / Duke brown nosing.

Duke has a sick team and UK may be FF when it's all said and done. But, my gosh, you can't go to anything without 2-3 stories @ Zion etc etc etc. Or UK's water boy has a hangnail or or or. Then TV. It is impossible to watch Slippery Rock State vs Uni of the South without a Duke or ZW reference or clip or update.

I guess that's what the marketing department says needs to be done, so they do it. But like today's News, Sports is utterly distorted.

ESPN appeals to a mass audience, not a college basketball junkie audience. As others in the thread have said, people who follow CBB, no matter what team they are fans of, are well-aware of how good Grant Williams is. He's no secret.

Zion Williamson and Duke are more recognizable to a mass audience than Grant Williams and Tennessee. The fact that Greenberg broke down film for a couple minutes about Grant shows the kind of season he's having. Tennessee is not a basketball school and isn't as attention-grabbing as a basketball program as the blue blood programs they spend most of their time talking about.

What I did find kind of amazing, even by ESPN standards, were all the references to Zion Williamson during the Kentucky/Auburn game on Saturday. Kentucky is a high-profile, blue blood school itself, and they still had to talk about Duke.

I think most CBB junkies know all about Grant, and they probably suspect that at the moment Zion might not even be the best all-around basketball player on his own team. Most athletic and most potential for highlight reels? Sure, and that's what brings eyeballs to the television screen. But actual best player? Not sure.

You are actually correct. He could truly be a top 50 all time NBA player. Reminds me a ton of the utterly freakish ability of Charles Barkley in his college days.

Love watching experts break down film. Wish there were shows dedicated to it on espn.

I love it too. Could watch it for hours. ESPN doesn't have it in their nature. I would love to see them replaced. But hey, they've refined selling advertising to an art form. So, it is what it is.

In the 2-3 games I've watched with Duke, I have to say RJB is better and more rounded at this moment. But, if I had the #1 pick in the NBA, this would be one EASY decision. I mean heck, Grant is more well rounded as a CBB player. But, that upside.
