Anybody see any concerns in the D-Line next year we are taking a big hit. I feel like we are a dominant D-line away from being a top 20 defense next year especially with the potential Linebacker Haul in recruiting. Tell me what you guys think, over and out and Go Vols!!!.

Absolutely. Pruitt has done a good job shoring up the oline this recruiting class, although we need a couple more, but the dline is a huge hindrance. I’m afraid we are going to continue to see games get out of hand, with teams that have no business doing so against us, until Pruit can fix the problem.

We have to use the remaining spots in this class to get another solid dlinemen or two and then make it a huge focus next year along with an elite QB. If Pruitt pulls that off, then we’ll be back.

Looking better although true freshman aren't going to help much.

Get back to me after about 2 more recruiting classes, we will know then!

Next years DL will surprise a lot of folks. I believe that it will be much better than most think. Gooden has the POTENTIAL to be a 1st round pick. There are others coming in that have plenty of size and ability. It will really depend on if they want to work hard enough to become a solid contributor.

They will not be as good and it will take a couple of years to get a D line that is talented enough, strong enough and deep enough to compete with the top SEC schools. As for Gooden, watch season 3 of last chance U. I hope he makes the most out of this opportunity.

Many have serious concerns about the D Line. Gonna be a problem all next season.

I can see this being the most dominant D line in the SEC next season. Nothing ever goes wrong at UT with JUCO recruits and high ceiling 3 star freshmen.

Gooden impressesed last year.

Emerson and Harris will be a year older, bigger and better.

Simmons appears to be a monster that will get time next year.

And if savion Williams on field game is half as good as his twitter talk, he will be a good one. Definitely has the fire off the field, will see how it translates on the field.

And don’t just assume Solomon sits next year. He could play.

Dline better next year? We lost our top 2 or 3 and we'll be better?
I'm not buying that hope. 2020 is when I see good line improvement on both sides.

My "glass half full" comment is that the positive news is that we red-shirted a bunch of kids this year. Plus, they're in a consistent S&C program for a 2nd year, which is so freaking important.

Were definitely depending on some guys coming in to step up and be able to play effectively right away. I like Gooden, hoping that the Michigan transfer is eligible. Certainly also have to believe the DL and defensive coaches are already working to develop some other guys on the roster. Right now on paper the position seems to be the weakest part of the football team.

What is Emerson’s status? I haven’t heard anything about him for awhile.

I hope you are wrong because they were pretty bad last year.

Because of graduation, I'm more concerned with this position group than I am the o-line..... And that's saying something.

@Lemme_axya_this

Emerson was redshirted, the coaches really liked what they saw from him. Last year having Tuttle stay healthy Emerson was able to redshirt.

Look for him to be a force this spring/summer after a full year of weight & nutrition programs

I liked Gooden, he flashed a lot last year in a few opportunities. Thought he should have played more but hopeful he will be the anchor this year. I think the DLine will be okay next year.

Pretty sure Harris moved to OL and isn't going to be given back any time soon.

Mincey flashed a bit but ultimately took a RS year to do as you said.

Garland redshirted too but needs to add weight and strength this off-season.
