I am involved in a NCAA fantasy team pool for 2007 along with eleven other merry souls. The teams are picked according to a draw. My number is 11 so I am already somewhat behind the eight ball. Another twist is that the second round picks are in reverse order so I will have the 11th and 14th picks. We will eventually pick six teams. My next pick will be in the mid thirties.

Points are awarded for
1) Winning
2) weekly rankings (points inverse to rank for top 25)
3) Conf Champs
4) BCS attendees
5) Other bowl attendees

I need to draft teams that will have staying power in the polls with a strong upside potential(for the early picks) and a good dark horse or two to have a chance.

Any suggestions on picks would be greatly appreciated.

I figure most of the consensus top 10 teams will be gone by my pick.

Fool that I am for the Vols, I'm sensing that the general attitude is better, the run game will re-emerge and Ainge will have a fantastic year. Hence, a lot of upside potential. I'm looking for teams lodged in the middle of the pre-season rankings that might take it away from the big boys.

If Tennesse is there, take 'em.

If nothing else you'll have a team you like in your camp. Plus, good things usually happen when our QB is a senior. You won't be disappointed either way...

Any teams on the left coast (other than already mentioned UCLA) that might be flying under the radar?

West Va. is a prime...if they are still on the table, I might grab them before UT. Arizona St. is one I would not have considered (because I don't know squat about them) but what you say makes sense. They are now on the radar.

OK, I see.....the only thing that might get them off the board is the fact I'm playing with a bunch of Texas homies. We see if they are available. Hat seems to know his stuff.
