Am I the only one who thinks it is amazingly silly to punish schools for simulating a gameday experience or most anything related to college life?

These kids should be able to see everything that IS an actual gameday experience. Is having your name announced to a crowd of fans such an unfair advantage that other schools can't use it? The entire point of having a strong fanbase, prestigious program and premier facilities is to attract recruits.

I can see drawing the line with media simulations but how much time and effort is spent by the NCAA and compliance offices over nothing violations that only garner a slap on the wrist? It's pointless and only fuels negative publicity that only makes the NCAA look ridiculous and ineffective because of all the glaring major violations that are missed or go unpunished for years.

I think it's amazingly silly to run the OTL violation as a story on the Sports Ticker during Sportscenter as "at least Kiffin 4th minor violation since being hired in December" when Mark Richt has still committed more minor violations in that same time frame

I have always thought the same thing.
I guess its the same reason why mcdonalds has to make it painfully clear that the coffee is hot.

I think it's silly to continually not know the rules and break them. Whether they are right or wrong is irrelevant. They are there and our staff should know them and adhere to them. What does that say to recruits when you continually thumb your nose at authority??

Yea, but, Mark Richt is a saint. No i wonder the same thing. If they were not talking about kiffin making these violations they would not be talking about Tennessee football and thats better than nothing.

That's a pretty dumb statement man, take a look at the number of all the other schools violations. Just cause you dislike lane kiffin doesn't mean you need to stop using your brain.

He knows the rules. He is using them to his advantage. Unfortunately, the NCAA has created a system with ridiculous rules that have no real punishment for breaking.

Programs pretty much have to participate in mild forms of "cheating" just to keep up with other programs who are doing the same thing. It all fuels the bad publicity, negative recruiting tactics and fanbase animosity that makes college football so much damn fun. On second thought, the NCAA shouldn't change a thing!
