Overall we look pretty good, but our secondary is still in some dire need of help, especially with all the injuries. How can one WR run the same route 5-6 times on a straight bomb down the sidelines and we keep the same tight coverage off the snap and get beat? Unless we get upgraded when Martin returns and a few others, better teams will tear us apart. Still a LOT of work to do. Where is C McDowell? Hopefully Half-time we make adjustments and this week in practice we center on this clear issue.

Injuries have killed our secondary. Also doesn't help that we have a couple back ups out as well. Plus the damn secondary coach out. It will get better.

Hope you guys are right. Man, this is a great example of what depth issues/injuries can do to a good team.

Here I was concerned about our Oline but the real dissapointment in the first half - at least compared to what I expected has been the D, ESPECIALLY pass coverage. THe front line just got beat 2x and gave up two TDs that BG did not deserve because they looked like they were scratching their butts.

I get that its first game and jitters etc but I am not seeing the effort on the D that is going to be needed next week. O is playing great btw.

Maybe I bought into the hype a bit much with :clapping:all the young talent coming in on D but I was thinking this first game would put a terror into the SEC when thinking of our D. I kind of doubt that anyone will be that intimidated with what they have seen so far.

Why do you guys think we are lagging a bit compared to what I believe we have the talent for? Is it inexperience or BG is actually better on O than I am giving them credit for? or am I just expecting too much from the D?

Willie not being out there has definatly hurt. The main issue we had was not moving the safety over sooner. Our D is going to be fine. We are missing McNeil and TKjr too.

YES! They were able to take advantage of some things before we were able to make the right adjustments. Hopefully, we have figured some things out!

Not going to panic after a few bad series. D will be fine with some tinkering. Offense looks good and seem to be well coached/prepared. The second half will tell us a lot.

Our defense is looking terrible. The secondary has been beaten deep all day and we are lucky they were off just a little. Now they are getting timing down and making us look bad
Stupid penalty on 3rd and 25. Giving up a 4th down play and those 2 long pass plays -- I expected the defense to be our strength but more like Swiss cheese in the first half

Offense just needs to run it down their throat with Hurd and AK a

I think the guys got lax after jumping on top so quick and as others mentioned the adjustment to cover Deiter was slow. We proceeded to shut them down after two bad possessions.

Will our second corner (Foreman, Moseley, or Martin) be this bad all year?
