It will be interesting to see how the Bama fans respond to this. 4 coaches and they have to show for it is 6th best in the league in wins?

I expect in 2 more years UT will fall. 97 and 98 were 2 of Fulmer's best seasons.

This is total wins including out of conference wins.

I wonder if Georgia and Florida's neutral site meetings count or not in that total?

I don't see why we would fall in the next couple of years. Matter of fact, I think we stay about the same or climb. I think we'll have a very good team for the next three years. IMHO

UT lost 1 SEC game in 97 and 0 in 98. Since then UT has lost at least 2 every year.

This is only SEC games, doesn't count bowl wins or out of conference wins.

Just a minor clarification, but I don't think this is correct; it is the total wins for each team, OOC or not. Think about it--we haven't averaged 9.6 conference wins per season. That would be a pretty tough task, considering we can only play 9 with a SECCG appearance. From the source site:

We added the win totals of the each of the SEC schools from the last ten years and compiled a top-to-bottom ranking. While this list does not take into account variables likes out-of-conference games and bowl opponents, it does provide a basic foundation for who has had the most success over the last decade.

It has to include OOC wins too, but I'm not sure that the numbers are exactly right. Georgia's win totals for the last 10 years are 9, 10, 10, 11, 13, 8, 8, 8, 9, and 10, which by my math add up to 96, not 98. I think UF and UT are still tied for second, but with 94, not 96.

Odd.

Yeah, you right, my bad. I misread the first paragraph where they said they didn't include out of conference games, bowl games to say they did. I wish they had. The SEC decade of dominance title was a little misleading.

Odd.

Without looking it up, you could squeeze one more win in there if you counted a 1/1/97 bowl game win as being in this decade, even though it came at the end of the '96 season, but I don't know how they came up with two extras.

Yes, it is strangely put. I think it means that they counted OOC and bowl games, but they knew there were some differences in SOS that they couldn't account for.

I wonder what it would like if it were 1990-1999 and then in 3 years, 2000-2009.

I can do the first one. It demonstrates pretty convincingly that it was a totally different conference than it is now. Look at the gap between the first two and #3, and then another 11-win gap down to everybody else.

TOTAL WINS, 1990-1999

1. Florida 102
2. Tennessee 99
3. Alabama 83
4t. Auburn 72
4t. Georiga 72
6. Ole Miss 67
7. Miss. State 63
8. Arkansas 57
9. LSU 54
10. Kentucky 44
11. South Carolina 42
12. Vanderbilt 34

(Note that this includes Arkansas and S. Carolina, even though they were not members at the beginning of the decade.)

that is a good observation.

Keep in mind that Stallings retired following 1996. I'm sure the numbers would look quite different going from 1990-1996. Instead, Dubose era began in 1997, and consider this:

For eight of the past 10 seasons, Alabama has been "lead" by either Mike Dubose or Mike Shula. Eight! I bet Bama fans shudder the thought of that when they really consider what their program has been through.

2007-2016 win totals will look very different for them, I have a feeling. I think UT will stay right there in the mix. No one will ever dominate the league again.
