With 3 teams in the top 10 and Mississippi holding strong in the top 25, the SEC isn't looking so bad?

How many SEC teams makes The Dance?

6 Teams or close to that I would guess.

Tennessee
Kentucky
Florida
Mississippi State
Ole Miss
Vanderbilt

Also, the drop off after the ranked SEC teams is pretty drastic.

Yep, Miss. State is a lock. Look at all those quality OOC wins they have had. And Vandy beat a 3-4 Arizona team, so they're in.

Trying to predict such a thing this early is still premature. But for the sake of guessing...

Assuming UK or UT wins the conference tourney and takes the automatic bid, I don't see the SEC getting more than 4/5 teams in. A dark horse would have to win the tourney to get 6.

Other than the obvious (UK/UT), I'm most high on Ole Miss, Florida and Vandy. Miss St (barring Sidney's approval by the NCAA to play) is probably the odd man out. They are already placing some bad references on their resume.

Miss. State is out unless Sidney gets cleared and proves to be one of the top players in the country.

The early season would indicate that only UK--UT are a lock at this time. Florida and Ole Miss have a chance. No one else looks like there is any real chance they will make it. However, as the earlier poster indicated, you can't predict end of season success based on early season games.

I thought they played all the games at the Garden. Had no idea that Florida and Cuse would be in Tampa. Either way, Florida is ranked way too high right now and I see a beat down on Thursday. Depaul is sure getting their chances with the SEC. The only way to reverse big east laughter is to take these games since the worst team in the whole conf. is going to keep it close with the 3 different sec teams they face. Only time you'll see me root for Kentucky. I can't stand Uconn lol.

Depaul will not finish last in the Big East this year. That is a prediction I am willing to make despite them going winless last year. If this breaks just right they would get to 8 wins in the Big East. I think the return of their best player from injury will bolster them, but they will probably only win 4-6 of those games.

The screwy thing is trying to figure out Vandy because of that craphole gym. They can go undefeated there. That's a huge leg up.

Depaul is absolute proof of the weakness of the SEC. No one has beaten them by a significant margin in the conference.

Vanderbilt's D just made Illinois look like the 86 Celtics for a half. Just pitiful, and soft.

I'm always amazed that a guy who worked for Gene Keady and played in the Big Ten can have teams so utterly lacking in testicular fortitude. They are wholly reliant on their offense against good competition away from home.

They really need the bottom of the SEC to suck. Ogilvy has y chromosome issues.
