Don't yet know enough about Stanford to make that call...

We'll find out a whole lot on Saturday.

I gotta go with Washington in that match up. Ole Miss looks like absolute garbage this year. Not that Washington is a great team or anything but I gotta think they'd roll over the Rebels.

And I don't know... Stanford's been very good so far this year, I can't see any real weaknesses. Florida has yet to really impress me.

They both suck. It's a toss up in my opinion.

I don't know what Stanford's done to impress you other than beat weak teams. They aren't running for 225 yards against Florida, and Andrew Luck would be up against the best secondary in the nation. I don't see it.

stanford would have huge problems with florida's speed. they've always sucked against fast teams.

Stanford at Oregon should be a good one, looking forward to it and i haven't said that about a Pac 10 game in forever. SEC seems to be kind of down overall this year.

Bama - Oregon: Bama
Stanford - Florida: Florida

Arkansas - USC: USC(Depends on Kiffin)
UCLA - S. Carolina: South Carolina
Kentucky - ASU: Kentucky (Kentucky has been consistently better than ASU. More bowl wins, better winning percentage, etc)
Cal - Miss. St - Cal, but MSU is one the rise
Ole Miss - Oregon St. - Oregon State

Are these in history or just head to head this year? No way Kentucky is better than ASU this year. The SEC is down this year. It's way too hard to determine who is better because fans of conferences tend to overrate the bottom half of their own conference, and underrate the bottom half of another.

This season.

There's absolutely no reason to assume ASU is better than Kentucky. ASU two wins this season were over FCS teams, and the two seasons prior to this, they finished below .500.

I loved Pat Forde's observation about how much the Pac-10 is changing this week...

"This weekend, College GameDay will be on hand for a nationally televised clash of Top 10 conference teams. And for the first time in recent memory, neither of them is USC."

He also made the observation that all 4 (counting this week) of the Pac-10 Top-10 Match Ups in the last few years have been played at Autzen Stadium and so far... Oregon's 3-0.

Gonna be a great game regardless.

The speculation.

If I must respond with more speculation of my own...

Alabama v. Oregon: Alabama
Stanford v. Florida: Toss-up
Auburn v. Utah: Toss-up
Arizona v. LSU: Arizona
Arkansas v. USC: leaning Arkansas
UCLA v. South Carolina: Toss-up
Kentucky v. Arizona St.: ASU
Cal v. Miss St.: Cal
Ole Miss v. Oregon St.: OSU
Washington v. Tennessee: Washington
Washington St. v. Vandy: Vandy

What is the deal? Are you running off how you think the teams will finish? Oregon St. will be far better than the 10th best team in the conference once the expansion happens.

When I call toss-ups, that's to say whoever is at home would likely win.

PS I think nobody has any idea about what to make of USC right now.

Let's play the speculation game. Why weren't Georgia and Colorado included?

Alabama v. Oregon: Alabama
Stanford v. Florida: Stanford
Auburn v. Utah: Toss-up, leaning Auburn
Arizona v. LSU: Arizona
Arkansas v. USC: Arkansas
UCLA v. South Carolina: South Carolina
Kentucky v. Arizona St.: ASU
Cal v. Miss St.: Cal
Ole Miss v. Oregon St.: OSU
Washington v. Tennessee: Washington
Washington St. v. Vandy: Toss-up, leaning Vandy
Georgia v. Colorado-Georgia

That puts it at 6-6.

Forgot UGA and the Buffs. UGA wins.

And don't kid yourself about WSU-Vandy, The 'Dores would annihilate the Cougars by 5+ TD's.

Washington State isn't just one of the worst BCS teams; they're one of the worst D-IA teams.

No, I'm using current standings and the highest ranked teams from each conference and pitting them in hypothetical match ups that way.

I don't quite understand the ASU pick, and of course, I feel differently about the Florida, Auburn, and South Carolina match ups. I think each is clearly superior to the teams they're matched against, but that's just me.
